For some reason, people keep pointing me at this comic.

I don't know why...

I remember a time when, for a moment, our political stridency was shut down. Where we were all united in outrage and purpose. Where much of the world stood at our side, condemning those who danced in the streets celebrating the deaths of thousands.

The world is a callous place by its nature. It neither knows nor cares about patriotism or hurt feelings. The outrage against injustice. The desperation of those who've felt every option taken from them. The mourning of families who never saw a loved one come home.

The world cares not about heroism, or heroes. In the end, it's people who care. People who live. People who love, hate, mourn and honor.

It's people who fear. Every unthinking reaction is a person driven by a fear. One often unacknowledged, usually masked in anger. Or in jealousy, or insecurity.

In time, the moment where everyone cared will be forgotten. It's already gained that sparkle-dusted veneer of nostalgia, a decade and change on. Eventually, it will be put away, like memories of World War II. It will be safely sanitized of emotional resonance, and buried in after-the-fact discussions, condemnations and rationalizations of the things we did after.

Before you invoke the totem of 9/11, before you use it to justify a political screed against or for something that inflames you in this minute...

Remember. Remember the pain, remember the unity, and remember those who kept going back.

The world is vastly intimate, made up of people who know and care for each other. Only people bring caring, passion and compassion to the world.

Reality does not care.

Take a moment to talk to the people you care for, listen to them, honor them as they live. If you set out to make the world a better place, do it on the intimate level. Help a friend in need.

"And please don't grieve, when I am gone.
Abide in what remains.
Till the shadows end, and we meet again...
On the dawning of the day.

For when shadows end, we shall meet again
On the dawning of the day"

How did those changes in Builder Version 31.2.2.9 alter ship designs? See the ships here and find out! Ten ships for Squadron Strike!

Mooch was fired 16 days before getting the job. Therefore, the official unit of causality violations is the Mooch.

There are -1,382,400 seconds to the Mooch. One millimooch is just about 20 minutes of going back in time. 1 micromooch is -1.3 seconds, or about how far back in time you want to go when you've triggered an awkward silence.

It is thus the inverse of the interval of regret.

This one's a big one - if you've ever been daunted by Squadron Strike ship designs, this is a good chunk of the "prebuild" stuff done for you already.
