Questioning the "No Cell Phone" Rule
Recently I had the good fortune to meet a friend at his club – one of clubs that have an air of gentility, partly due to the "no mobile phone" Rule. while I enjoy this Luddite-esque environment, a couple of things made me wonder how rational the rule really is. Or even whether there is a touch of hypocrisy in the rule.

Hashtag Best Practices (or, What Would Jimmy Fallon Do?)
While the hashtag has been around for a while, I still see people misusing it, notably on Twitter. A #hashtag is, first and foremost, about search.

Uncorking new value for law firms through "social business." Should be an interesting and informative read.
I am pleased to announce the publication of our new book -- Outperform the Competition: Business Strategies for the Social Law Firm. The book lays out our vision for how any large law firm can transform itself and the prevailing model for client service through the adoption of a social business strategy.

The book is addressed to the leadership and key managers of large law firms. For those readers who have no prior familiarity with the concept, it provides an overview of how the social business movement in recent years has been instrumental in transforming major corporations worldwide. It also discusses how these concepts may be adapted to the legal market and provides case studies illustrating how a handful of leading law firms are already putting these ideas into practice today. We also provide practical suggestions about how any large firm can develop its own social business strategy.

In conjunction with publication of the book, we have also launched a new web site – The Social Law Firm – where we will continue the discussion with thought leaders throughout the legal market – The Social Law Firm is a site where you can hear directly from leading practitioners, technologists and marketing specialists who are driving change in the legal industry today.

If you are interested in finding more about the book, you can get a complimentary copy of the first chapter on the website. I welcome your comments and thoughts!
