RDPA Invites you out to an evening with Mirit Murad, Parenting Coach
Date:  Tuesday, February 4, 2014
Time:  7:00-8:30pm
Place:  Richmond School Board Room (7811 Granville Avenue)

On the Agenda:

1.     ( 7:00pm-7:15pm) Wendy Lim, Assistant Superintendent will be presenting an update on the 2015-16 School Calendar
2.      (7:15pm-8:00pm) Mirit Murad  (Coach, Facilitator, Writer NLP Practitioner) http://www.parentwithchoice.com/

The two main things she will discuss are (1) how to communicate more effectively with your child/teen and (2) how to support them in doing their homework and succeeding in school.  It will be interactive and we will all take something away to work with.

After an initial meeting with her, I learned a lot about how to talk to our children and the words that can be used to be more effective communicators.  Mirit talked about how positive intentions from parents may have negative outcomes and how we can overcome those.  Also, she encourages us to be a team with our children.  We are on the same side and power struggles happen because we don’t listen to each other’s needs.

Please send one or two representatives from your school. RSVP to rdpa@sd38.bc.ca so we know how many people to expect.  Also, if you have any questions you would like to address, please forward them on so we can help cater the presentation to what is valuable to you and to our community.
