Oh hey, AllCast for Amazon Fire TV just went live.

This Fire TV app also has beta Mirroring support built in as well.

didn't realize you can install apps to the Fire TV's remote
Nice bro! Do you need to be rooted for mirroring??
Would the mirror part work with a GN3 or does it still have to be a N5?
Any chance it may come to 4.2
+Koushik Dutta I can't get Mirror working with my Nexus 4 and the Chromecast. It connects, but it only shows a black screen and no mirroing at all. Something I'm doing wrong, of it is not fully functional as of now?
Is this the receiver app?
+Koushik Dutta any plans to publish the receiver app on the playstore? I use it on my odroid and it works very well. I guess for the time being I can get it from the Amazon store.
With one helpful review by some nipple already lol, god bless Amazon
+Koushik Dutta You mean trying to mirror to a Computer? I've just done so and it doesn't work either. No idea why, my browser recognizes it as a video, and I can activate the controls, but it only shows a black static screen and no mirroing at all. Damn! =(
Works silky smoooooth excelent job as always!
Is Chromecast mirroring still being worked on, or abandoned in favor of the fire? Was teased enough times, I sure hope the former.
Is this limited to the file types supported by FTV? Had a few avi that wouldn't play or had no audio.
+Koushik Dutta yeah, I had the Mirror beta installed on my HTC One, but last I heard, it would only mirror to Chromecast from a Nexus 5. Could never get it to run.
+Koushik Dutta can you make it run on any phone? Yes I mean what I say: make an all cast receiver app that runs on a phone.
+Koushik Dutta allcast is just cool. Although I'd like to ask if it wild be possible to utilize android media routing to play movies on "second" screen via miracast. I would be so happy :)
What happened to support for subtitles? I tried playing a video via Allcast to my TV, but I can't see any way to enable subtitles.

If I understood correctly, there should be a "CC"-button to press to select subtitles, but I can't see it while streaming from Allcast.
Sorry this was when casting to Chromecast and not Fire TV.

I'm quite sure I saw a screen of allcast where there was a button called "cc" where you could select a subtitle file for the video fire that was playing. This has not been visible for me, so I'm guessing that I'm mistaken or the feature has been taken out.

Yes, there is an SRT-file in the same folder as the video file. Playing videos works like a charm, but I'm a bit unsure of how to get subtitles to work when casting via Allcast to Chromecast.
+Martin R. AllCast never let you "pick" the subtitle file. If it finds that a video file and srt file exist in the directory, with the exact same name (minus file extension), it will use that.

Are these files both stored on your phone? Can you get me both file names?
I'm having a hard time getting content to cast from my s4 to fire TV. I did side load the prior app. When I click on a pic or video it just hangs with no response from the fire TV? Thoughts?
Is it possible to stream your PC monitor directly to Fire TV? I don't mean Chrome tab, the actual video out from the PC..
I've having loads of issues with getting my HTC One or Nexus 7 to connect to the Amazon Fire TV. I've downloaded the regular and premium Allcast app on each device, as well as on the Amazon Fire Tv via the Amazon Market. I've restarted all devices several times. Occasionally, I'll see Amazon Fire TV pop up, then disappear as soon as I try to share a picture or video.

I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling on all devices, including Fire TV, with no luck.

I've gotten Allcast to work with my Chromecast in the past without issue, so this is very frustrating. Not sure what else to try.
please some instructions, how to do mirroring from my phone on Fire tv please please please......
+Koushik Dutta thanks for the quick reply!

The files are in the same folder. Video-file and .srt-file is named the same, but they are on my computer.

Trying to cast to Chromecast via Allcast, file on Plex Media Server. File playing excellently, but no subtitles. It this not possible?

File name of video file and subtitlefile are the same.
+Koushik Dutta the name of my account on Amazon Fire TV will show up briefly and it will seem like it's about to work, then it is no longer in my playback devices list. My issues appear to be with Comcast wifi through the Comcast router. Just got home from our trip and connected through out Comcast router with the same issues I was having this weekend. Then I connected both phone and Fire tv through my Amped wireless router and it worked. Was able to stream media now.
+Koushik Dutta I tried with both Plex and Windows 7 folder sharing (DLNA), but didn't work. Both times; to play the video file worked flawlessly, but not showing on my TV with subtitles.

Do I need to purchase the Plex app for Android to enable subtitles when casting perhaps? I'm not that familiar with Plex, just downloaded it.
Does the mirror app run on a rooted moto x
Koush, does allcast support the LG GA6400 Google TV's with the Jellybean update?
I can't get your allcast app to work for the life of me. When I try to cast a youtube video from my phone, I pick my Amazon Fire TV , and nothing happens. It just gets stuck at  "connecting".  Same thing with mirroring. Actually, the mirroing works on my Apple TV, so I don't know why I am having so many issues with getting it to work the Fire TV.
Nevermind, I took the update in the play store. All is well.
+Koushik Dutta Great app, i saw a video where you stream your phone to the amazon fire tv and play flapp bird, is this going to be possible?
I have an htc one.
Confused. Got it to install on my Fire TV. But I don't see my FireTV on my list of devices to connect to. What am I doing wrong?

I do see my other ChromeCast devices, but the FireTV running allcast isn't listed.
