Mirror lets you: * Create a video recording of your Android * Mirror your Android screen to an Apple TV * Mirror your Android Screen to Amazon Fire TV * Mirror your Android screen to Chromecast (Nexus 5 only) * Mirror your Android Screen to Chrome (Nexus 5 only)
To try Mirror beta, you need to do the following:
Root your Android 4.4.2 phone (not necessary in the future).
Installed successfully. It's in system/priv-app with the right permissions, but it crashes when Mirror is launched (Unfortunately, Mirror has stopped. Report, OK). I submitted a report.
More info. 4.4.2 nexus 5 (from factory images), art, rooted, supersu, lcd density changed to 400. That's all the mods I've done to it.
Only pointing this out, being that I caught it just now. But try switching back over to Dalvik rather than ART and see whether it starts for you. It'll save +Koushik Dutta from a lot of debugging if people are running the "non-experimental" and more common runtime.
I'm on 11-20131211-NIGHTLY-jfltexx / SG4 / KT Kernel 4.4. I've installed the app, granted root access but after I record a video I can't watch it. I couldn't find a video player on my mobile which could play it. Same problem on desktop PC. VLC says it doesn't recognise it. Can anybody help? Thanks in advance.
Does work on nexus 5 (stock, rooted, on art) but does not on nexus 7 2013 (stock, rooted, tried both art and dalvik). Tried reinstalling, didn't help..
Pardon my lack on knowledge here... Is it possible to add support for Chromecast? Ever since prior to Google closing off the hidden hooks you'd used in your original Chromecast app efforts, have you been able to use the new Chromecast SDK to cast local device content to Chromecast? Would it follow that mirroring the device to Chromecast would follow? Thanks +Koushik Dutta
Video recoring is verry laggy on my sgs3 *4.4.2 cm11 unofficial (yesterdays build) doesn't seam to find my Sony TV, is this only working with the Apple TV device?
Wish tablets were supported...any idea if it will in the future, I would love to mirror my XBMC on my Galaxy Tab to an apple TV3 (which can't be jailbreaked to run XMBC natively)
It would be great if you could start screen recording using "power button + vol up" to start a screen record like you could do it with CyanogenMod Screencast ( https://plus.google.com/110558071969009568835/posts/72Tc9e3ZFMA). I hope this feature will be added in the future.
I have a nexus 4, too, enabled the screen mirroring feature, waited 15 seconds and it found my computer. And 5 seconds later my nexus 4's screen was shown on my computer using airserver. So yeah, it works with airserver!
+Nico Feulner Really? I installed AirServer in my Macbook pro, installed Mirror, enabled wireless display in options. Nothing is coming up. Tried 5-6 times but no luck.
Installed AirServer in windows desktop as well as Macbook. Other apple devices are connecting but my Nexus4 is not showing any airplay servers. Yes all are in same WiFi.
Strange, this App is for CM based phones, but, it does not exists on OnePlus One, and ask for root if tried install manually. Not sure, whether works or not after root. I was hoping my upgrade from I9250 to OnePlus One will fill this need, but, not.
