Participating in the #G20 Science, Technology & Innovation Ministers' Meeting in Beijing, China, with my wonderful team from Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.

It was a wonderful experience sharing experiences and best practices from India and getting an insight into the work done by various countries. I shared the vision set for sciences and technology by our Hon'ble Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi ji and the key policy reforms and actions undertaken by our ministry led by Sri Dr. Harshvardhan ji.

Earlier, we had a wonderful banquet hosted by my Chinese counterpart and a brief visit to some of the best science labs in China. Delighted to share that key thought leaders in sciences from across the world are looking forward to great things from us.

When I shared my views on how I celebrate #Diwali and what are the things I look forward to - taking my #parent's blessings, spending time and sharing my happiness with underprivileged children and old people in nearby #charity homes I support to bring out the best and true spirit of #Deepawali, then some joint family shared time over puja, food, and lights.

And yes, some delightful #Andhra #sweets.

We were witness to another proud moment of the creation of a wonderful future for Andhra Pradesh when our and Chief Guest, Hon'ble Minister of Finance, Sri Arun Jaitley ji, along with Hon'ble Andhra Pradesh CM Sri Nara Chandrababu Naidu garu, in the presence of Hon'ble Minister of Urban Development, Sri M Venkaiah Naidu garu, and Hon'ble Minister of Civil Aviation, Sri Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju garu, besides several Parliamentarians, MLAs, leaders and common people, laid the foundation stone for construction of administrative complex in our pride new capital - #Amaravati.

Built in over 950 acres area on banks of Krishna River, the administrative core will house all wings of government like Secretariat, Raj Bhavan and Legislative Assembly.

It was heartening to hear the finance minister acknowledge the vision of our leader N Chandrababu Naidu and how Amaravati, the pride of Telugu people, will definitely emerge as one of India's finest urban centres and a model futuristic city.

His reiteration of the assurance that our state will receive over Rs 2 lakh crore before 2019 highlights how strongly Center and State are working together for a better future for all people of AP.

On his birth anniversary, I bow to salute and pay my tributes to the great freedom fighter, nationalist, revolutionary and martyr Sri Jatindra Nath Das ji (popularly called #JatinDas), who gave his life for Indian independence in Lahore jail after a 63-day hunger strike. He had earlier also participated in Mahatma Gandhi's Non-Cooperation movement.

He participated in bomb-making for Bhagat Singh and comrades. In 1929, he was arrested for revolutionary activities and was imprisoned in Lahore jail to be tried under the supplementary Lahore Conspiracy Case.

In prison, Jatin Das began a hunger strike along with other revolutionary fighters demanding equality for Indian political prisoners with those from Europe.

He forever inspires youth to have a strong bond with their motherland, and to express their love for their country by fighting against oppression and injustice.

Today, I was a proud witness to a moment of Transformation and foundation for a great future for #AndhraPradesh at #Sabbavaram, #Visakhapatnam, when Hon'ble Andhra Pradesh CM Sri Nara Chandrababu Naidu garu, along with Union Ministers Sri M Venkaiah Naidu garu, Sri Dharmendra Pradhan ji, Sri Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju garu, and I, along with several Members of Parliament, and MLAs, laid the foundation stone for the Indian Instituteof Petroleum & Energy (#IIPE), and dedicated the National Skill Development Institute (Arilova center) and started the PM Ujjwala Yojana (#PMUY) at the State level.

The IIPE, envisioned as a world-class energy institute, working in tandem with the Central government, will produce research of global standard, we are sure it will become a focal point of R&D in the petroleum sector with top-notch scholars and academicians.

The AP State government contributed Rs 600 crore for the project. Currently, 96 students have already been enrolled into the IIPE under the aegis of the Andhra Unuversity.

Along with IIPE, the Skill Development Institute was also dedicated to the nation today with the aim of boosting employment and talent in AP.

With the launch of #PMUjjwalaYojana in Andhra Pradesh, the current status of 90 out of 100 households having LPG would become cent-percent in the coming year, making the state kerosene and pollution free, and empower women. With this, we are closer to achieving our dream of bringing petrol, LPG and piped gas connections to every village and town in the State.

The Center has committed to making a total investment of Rs 62,000 crore in the State keeping all petrochemical and allied projects, and in turn, the State will contribute significantly towards ensuring energy security for our nation. The Center will invest an additional Rs 60,000 crore in Krishna-Godavari basin.

With the Visakha refinery, Rajahmundry assets and Kakinada pipeline in tow, the State will soon become the petroleum hub in India.

Today as we observe the World Bioethics Day as declared by UNESCO, we must as a society think seriously about the long-term impact and significance of ethics in medicine, and related research, and its impact on people and our future.

It is even more critical as this year's theme of #WorldBioethicsDay is 'Human dignity and Human rights.'

From relatively simple issues like blood donation to organ transfers and donations, clinical trial of newer medicines and drugs, abortion; pre-natal test findings and sharing, and the linkages and limits of environment, science, nature, social and religious views of humanity - bioethics spans it all and we must evolve a complex fragile consensus on a dynamic and changing theme.

Let us make this day count to make our medical and research fraternity interface with society and government, and together, ensure we strive and achieve highest levels of ethics and humanity while removing suffering and disease from mankind.

Today, I held a review meeting over preparations for the prestigious 104th Indian Science Congress which is being held in #Tirupati between January 3 to 7, 2017, and would be which inaugurated by Hon'ble Prime Minister PMO India Sri Narendra Modi ji at the Sri Venkateswara University campus.
.
Participants including Ministers from State of Andhra Pradesh, officials of the Central and State government, and Vice-Chancellors of both the varsities from Tirupati gave excellent ideas to make the event truly world-class.

Besides consolidating Tirupati's prime position as an academic center, we hope to harness this platform to demonstrate the potential of the city to make in impact on higher science studies.
