Well, my opinion is that we have plenty of other sources for all the beneficial components of milk like calcium, potassium, vitamin D etc. in other foods like fruits and vegetables. However, they are also stating an affordability factor, yet only providing the cost of milk at 25 cents for an 8 oz glass, so we don't really have anything to compare the price of milk too as a source of those nutrients. I know that if you are lactose intolerant, the price may not be your deciding factor. Too often our government tries too hard to lump us all into one simple category, our educational system is another good example of this failed approach. But it should not surprise anyone that our government favors or promotes one industry over the next.
