Yeah! Another winter storm!  (I am being a bit sarcastic here. I'm nowhere as near optimistic about winter as I was last year. I'm ready for warmer weather.)

I'm still working to organize the shop with the new table saw, but I finally had reason to fire up the new table saw and make my first cut with it. All is well in my little woodworking world!

The new Sawstop is assembled and in its near final position. I'm still playing around with the garage layout in sketchup, so I have been holding off making a first cut. With all my other activities, it may take a while to get things sorted out and in place. It took most of this past weekend to rearrange my 'junk' to make room in the garage and assemble the saw. And I have to give a huge thank you to my son Adrien who helped me out all weekend without a single complaint!

So I've been toying around with buying a Sawstop table saw lately. Mainly for the safety aspect, but also to upgrade to a real cabinet saw. I've got the okay from the CFO to purchase one (yipee!), but I've wondered what to do with my current table saw. From a functional perspective, it works great, and I've never had a safety problem with it. From an ethical perspective, should I get myself worked up about selling my old saw? Since it doesn't have all the latest safety features? Or do I just chalk it up to a buyers personal choice?Anyone have any thoughts? (oh, and if you need a good table saw...)

Tristen marched this past Friday at the Xavier HS football game. They did a great job! Can anyone guess which tuba player he is?!?!?

I was able to get into the shop this past weekend and made some decent progress on the current project. Most of the milling is complete for this set of bunk beds. I'll be able to start cutting the pieces to final dimensions this weekend.
