We had a wonderful traditional New Orleans dinner last night at this iconic restaurant. It's located off the beaten tourists path but don't let this discourage a visit to this great restaurant. The walls are covered by photos of athletes politicians, and celebrities alike who have visited. It is truly a landmark of NOLA cuisine. Shortly after you are seated you're brought a loaf of fresh baked French bread with room temperature butter. Yum! It was perfect! We then followed with some raw oysters which were well chilled and briny. The crowd favorite for dinner was the BBQ shrimp served up in a buttery peppery delish sauce that was fabulous for dipping the bread through. Service was a little slow at times but all in all a very relaxing and tasty meal. I would definitely recommend reservations. Next time I go back, BBQ again! Urban Cowgill

The Veal marsala was unexpectedly good as was the pecan pie. The bbq shrimp, however...yes. Just yes. There is a reason they are the only thing that does not rotate off the menu. Don't debate. Eat here. You are welcome.

I can't stress this enough: if you visit New Orleans, you must come here and taste the barbecue shrimp. This restaurant has impeccable service with a tremendous array of food. They cover Italian cuisine with creole flavors. If you go for lunch, you could also look into the red beans and rice with a pork chop. I also recommend the gumbo, but you might have to ask for extra rice. I doubt that you will have room for dessert. This is one of my favorites. I compare other restaurants to this experience.

Went with a group so had a good time overall, but i agree with the other reviewer who said the place is a bit schizy. It looks like a fancy restaurant with white tablecloths but the food requires crab shack casual attire. I guess i just hate having to work for my food that much. Had the BBQ shrimp. Tasted good but wow what a mess to eat! Overall not worth it.

If you're thinking about this place, definitely wear something nice. I visited Pascal's Manale with my parents upon moving to the area. Dad wanted the famous BBQ shrimp, and we assumed our casual attire would suffice. I understand what another reviewer means by a mixed atmosphere, but it is a nice spacious place to eat with great food, wine and bow-tie service. Regardless, the food was wonderful and abundant.

Food was good but extremely overpriced. Also the entire mood and theme of the restaurant is confused. I was not sure if I was in a fine Italian restaurant, a quality seafood restaurant, or a low-end crab shack. It has the appearance of higher-end fine dining at $30-$55 per entree, yet the service is lazy. The bread is cheap, given in a bag, not properly sliced, and one cannot have any without making a total mess. The servers wine etiquette is atrocious. They serve food that requires bibs, which is not appropriate for such an expensive and "classy" venue. All of this would be fine, if it wasn't outrageously overpriced. There are many other restaurants in New Orleans where you can pay the same amount and get a much better dining experience.
