[THIS MESSAGE IS ONLY FOR THE MW, 250-405 CLASS]
REMINDERS FOR NEXT WEEK (12/9-12/13) #remind #sal2480a
DID YOU SCHEDULE YOUR FINAL PRESENTATION?
If you haven’t, contact me as soon as possible. You need to complete this presentation in order to pass the course.
WRITING QUIZ ON MON.
We’ll take the first 20 minutes of class on Mon. to complete a timed in-class writing quiz based on Sea. 6, Eps. 16-17 of the series. (I know I mentioned the last 3 episodes, but Ep. 17 is a double-episode.) As always, you can use all your notes. I hope you can catch up if you’re behind to appreciate the conclusion of the story.
CIVIC ENGAGEMENT PRESENTATIONS AND HOURS
This week is your last opportunity to complete your informal civic engagement presentation. Remember that you just need to show us a few pictures (upload them on Google+) and speak for 3-5 minutes about what you did and how you responded to the experience. (If you worked with a classmate on your civic engagement, you can present together.) Have some clear thoughts you’d like to share about the meaning of your experience. If you worked on your civic engagement already and haven’t presented, please be ready on Monday. The presentation is worth 35 of 100 civic engagement points.
(If you’re still interested in completing a project, please see the invitation on Google + to the Health in the Hood garden tomorrow, Sat. 12/7. This is the last event I’m helping plan. Otherwise, you’d have to identify a project on your own.)
Your contract and hours are due by no later than 5 pm on Thurs. (12/12). Give me the hours in person or drop them off in my office by the deadline. (Room 2218-08 at the Kendall Campus). Your hours are worth 35 out of 100 points.
Your online reflection is also due by no later than 5 pm on Thurs. (12/12). Write a 2-paragraph reflection describing what you did for your project and what you learned from it on Google+. Use the hashtag #civic
. The reflection is worth 20 out of a 100 points.
As you know, your presentation, hours and reflection--all together--are worth 5% of your final grade.
