Sure, you've got old d20s from when you were a kid--but how about one from 204-30 BC? Egyptian d20 from the Metropolitan Museum of Art: http://j.mp/PSpdL5

Microsoft partners with Klout on 'author-led' content, which highlights the fact that Google+ rules!

WIRED UK points out the elephant in the room when it comes to Microsoft's recent announcement with Klout: The supremacy of Google+.

To re-cap, Microsoft and Klout are working together to enable Bing search results to be organized in part around authors and what they write. The partnership will improve Bing search to be sure.

But the partnership highlights both the value of author-led content, and also the fact that Google+ rules in this regard.

Authors who have Google+ profiles and use Google's author tags have a huge advantage in discovery. Their Google+ profile pictures show up in the search results.

Here's an example: I wrote about my new Bialetti coffee maker. If you search  Google for "Bialetti," my result is one of the few with a photo: http://j.mp/OtjGd6

Likewise, if you search for my name on Google Search, you'll find both my Google+ profile info as the first result, and a a big Knowledge Graph writeup on the right, based on my Google+ profile: http://j.mp/PcGbxt

As an author, this is amazing. And for readers looking to know and discover and contact authors, it's fantastic.

Before Google+, it was actually difficult to find good information on authors, especially contact info. Now, Google Search takes you straight to it -- unless the author is too clue-challenged to use Google+.

As WIRED UK points out, the Microsoft partnership with Klout more than anything else highlights Google's unbeatable strategy for using Google+ to improve search results.

Have you been to Thailand?

Where there and did you enjoy it?

One of my favourite countries with the best food in the world! :-)

This image (with my family standing on the left) was taken at the Maeklong market town; The only place in Thailand where a train passes through the market twice a day. Well worth a visit with a few hours drive from Bangkok or Cha Am / Hua Hin.  The train passes at around 08.30 in the morning so better make an early start. From here it's a short distance to visit the Damnoern Saduak floating market.

More about Thailand in an article I wrote:
