Gondry's animated Chomsky documentary looks like a return to form after his Green Hornet misadventure (Gondry's, not Chomsky's; although Chomsky as the Green Hornet couldn't have been much worse...). Premiered last night as the closing film at DOC NYC.

Would it matter if Trey Parker was gay?

Of course not!
Or would it...
What if it made him a hypocrite?

The BBC's Beta homepage re-design is very tablet friendly and seems to take more than a few design cues from Microsoft’s forthcoming Windows 8 “Metro” interface, with its collection of tiles and sideways scrolling main panel. It also brings it into line with the current iPlayer look and feel.

All built in what appears to be HTML5 and CSS too.

Yum.

I cannot wait for the death of Flash. A clunky mess for users and developers alike that crashes my, obviously HTML5 favouring, Chrome browser constantly these days. The BBC site also reminds me a bit of Feedsquare which I use organise my RSS feeds. Tweetdeck app for Chrome does some neat HTML5 too.

Think Tanks and Policy Wonks

Adam Curtis on the birth of the Think Tank and the Free Market outsiders of the 1950's who created them. In typically 'truth is stranger than fiction' style this encompasses factory farming, pirate radio and the somewhat Sci-Fi, esoteric almost religious dogma underpinning Hayek's theories on post-war Laissez Faire Capitalism. Eventually it leads to Google. Doesn't everything?

Reading and philosophy clubs during the "enlightenment" were essentially think tanks. They discussed and formulated policy and influenced culture.

Yeah, I've read Tragedy and Hope. Great stuff.

Simon Kuper read a brace of rubbish right wing books so you didn't have to. This has led him to the conclusion that the previous decade's big, dumb geopolitical concept - Eurabia - might be over...

Make sure you run this fullscreen. Urban Downhill Mountain-biking Chilean style. I gotta get me a crack at this.
