Running some macro stacks of dead insects these days. Exploring the options with medium format.
This was made with Pentax 645Z + FA-200mm f/4, and a Motic 10X microscope objective. Stacked with ZereneStacker from 300 exposures. Probably overkill to space the focus by only four µm, but it looks nice. Pleased to learn that ZS can deal with 50Mpx files, and that the Motic's image circle does not cause vignetting on this format.
Real length of beetle is 3-4 mm from head to tail.

Autumn fly. Nature in my country is heading towards hibernation fast, but there are still a few insects about.

flickr is an odd place, with its ecosystem of services re-representing images. Tonight, the below image suddenly got 1400 views within ninety minutes, after a pickup from fluidr.
The exposure is appreciated, of course, but it's kinda weird because it's so random.

Pleased to say, I've found a very useful purpose for my landscape photos as illustrations in teaching geography. 😀

Hi,
Hope I get the posting right here, it's my first.
