Having spent 2 years living in Japan and many more traveling up and down the West coast, I can say without hesitation that this place is the real deal. A fantastic blending of tradition and innovation with freshness & quality of ingredients being utmost important. The owner Keith and all the staff are knowledgeable & informative. Now every time I get to New Orleans I make this a destination spot.

Three friends and I were looking for a late night place to grab sushi. We called at 10:30pm with the intention of ordering take-out. We asked the girl who answered the phone what time were they were closing, she confirmed a time of 12:00am. We then decided to cancel our take-out order and dine-in instead since they were open so late. We drove 25-minutes to the restaurant and arrived at 10:55pm. They informed us that they had already taken last call and were closing at 11:00. We explained that we just called and confirmed that they were closing at midnight, they didn't care. We brought up the fact that it wasn't even 11:00 yet, they didn't care. We explained that we cancelled our take-out in order to dine-in, they didn't care. The staff did not offer any accommodations and weren't very apologetic. This is not worthy of being called a New Orleans restaurant.

This is without a doubt the best sushi restaurant in the city. They pay great attention and detail to everything on the menu. Its a little out of my daily price range but the happy hours help. There is also a late night happy hour.

I love sushi. I have a go to no frills place, and then this place. This is the restaurant you want to hang out and have a date in. Or take your best girlfriend out to lunch in. Or hang for reverse happy hour specials at the bar in. Beautiful, fresh tasty sushi. If you can pry yourself away from sushi and sashimi, the hot entrees are delicious as well. I highly recommend.

I have lived in the city for only about two months, so I haven't had enough sushi to definitively say this is the best in the city. I CAN definitively say that my lunch at Chiba was the most flavorful, delicious meal I have eaten since I moved here, hands-down! The prices on the lunch menu were great, and the food came out fast. I was able to watch the sushi chef work, which was great, because you know professionalism when you see it! I started with a spring roll, perfectly crispy, which came with the most delicious sweet chili sauce you could ask for! I got the teriyaki chicken lunch special (so good!), which came with PERFECT miso soup, two crispy delicious shrimp tempura, a wonderfully fresh california roll, and rice. The portions were great, especially for lunch and especially for the price; I had enough to satisfy myself, and still had leftovers to serve both my husband and myself for dinner. (The hot parts of the meal re-heated surprisingly well in the oven!) My server, I think his name was Keith (I think he is also the owner)? He was fantastic! He was friendly and fast, was happy to answer all of my picky questions, and when he packed up my leftovers to go, he surprised me with an absolutely decadent blueberry tempura bread pudding! I can't wait to go back and try more dishes; everything on the menu looked fantastic, and the happy hour specials are very fairly priced! All in all, great food, great experience; do yourself a favor and give this place a try! Don't skip the hot sake while you're at it!

Excellent sushi, great happy hour prices.

Chiba hasn't shared anything with you.

People are more likely to share with you if you add them to your circles.
