Three friends and I were looking for a late night place to grab sushi. We called at 10:30pm with the intention of ordering take-out. We asked the girl who answered the phone what time were they were closing, she confirmed a time of 12:00am. We then decided to cancel our take-out order and dine-in instead since they were open so late. We drove 25-minutes to the restaurant and arrived at 10:55pm. They informed us that they had already taken last call and were closing at 11:00. We explained that we just called and confirmed that they were closing at midnight, they didn't care. We brought up the fact that it wasn't even 11:00 yet, they didn't care. We explained that we cancelled our take-out in order to dine-in, they didn't care. The staff did not offer any accommodations and weren't very apologetic. This is not worthy of being called a New Orleans restaurant.

Everything I've tried on the menu is good. The lunch special for unagi is my favorite. The tempura bread pudding is also very good. Sushi-wise, they have both standard fare and some interesting specialty rolls. And they deliver! Omnomnomnom.

Chiba is one of the few Japanese restaurants I've encountered with a nice selection of vegetarian options. Usually when I go to a sushi restaurant, they only have one or two (pretty bland) vegetarian rolls. But Chiba's vegetarian sushi entree was actually really varied and flavorful! Also the mushroom gyoza are fantastic. I ordered delivery and the driver was very prompt and courteous. Would definitely order again!

This is without a doubt the best sushi restaurant in the city. They pay great attention and detail to everything on the menu. Its a little out of my daily price range but the happy hours help. There is also a late night happy hour.

The best sushi in the city, no question. The service is always impeccable as well. If you're going somewhere else you're missing out.

Such an awesome place. It has the vibe of a NYC sushi joint mixed with a laid back feel of a Venice beach hot-spot I worked at a few years back. Great happy hour and some amazing specials. Tiffany and Keith (the owners) exude positive energy that is felt from the moment you walk in. Take a chance on something different and you won't be disappointed!

FOOD POISONING! However I don't know who to blame Chiba or Squeal, a friend and I shared the Crispy Chicken appetizer and were both violently ill for the next 24 hours. It was the only dish we shared and she just came into town for a visit so it wasn't the flu. I guess they smoke the chicken at Squeal then fry it there. The dish wasn't even that good, mixed meat, not chop stick friendly either, would be nice if it was bite sized pieces. But it doesn't matter as I won't be eating there again.

Chiba hasn't shared anything with you.

People are more likely to share with you if you add them to your circles.
