Congratulations to Jeff K. celebrating 5 years with Troyer! Jeff is actually one of the first people to have operated a vac truck, having first started talking with Steve Troyer back in Spring of 2001. At the time, Jeff had never driven a vac truck so when Steve called him in November and asked him if he wanted to come drive the truck he had just purchased, Jeff trained up and that winter he would become the very first operator of “Barney”. Jeff returned to his forestry job in the spring, but the next winter he was asking Steve if he could bring the truck to the camp in Helmut up by Fort Nelson. As soon as he got the go ahead, Jeff and his swamper packed up that night and the very next morning when Jeff was introducing himself to the local businesses, they received their first job. It would be the start of a very busy winter. Over the next few years, Jeff was an integral part of the Waste Transfer Station they founded and stayed on as the manager when it was sold to Secure in 2008. In June 2010, Jeff would start back at Troyer in the newly created position of Field Supervisor for Fort St John. In January 2011, he took on the project of implementing WebTech and from there became the company’s Project Manager. Over the last five years, Jeff has been the driving force behind having projects come to completion including the shop expansion and office renovation in Fort Nelson (2011), and the Fort Nelson, Fort St John and Edson rail yard projects and expansions (2012, 2013). His latest project includes Grande Prairie’s new shop – stop by and see it if you are in the Clairmont area. Currently you might see Jeff working around various locations in Fort St John, including getting cars loaded at the rail terminal, or even pitching in to help clean up a spill using a hydrovac. In his free time during the last 8 months, Jeff has been taking courses to complete his Project Management Certification at the college, and recently wrote his exam. We appreciate his hard work and are looking forward to seeing him receive his Project Management Certification. Thank you for your years of service, Jeff, we all know it’s far more than 5 years!

Congratulations to DeeAnn Booth celebrating 3 years with Troyer Ventures today! DeeAnn is originally from Kitimat, BC and began working in the Fort St John office in Spring 2012 when she started in Accounts Payable keeping all of our vendors happy. Last year she moved into Payroll where she now keeps employees happy by getting us paid twice a month (Thanks, DeeAnn!). She is also a key player in ensuring a good time is had by organizing the annual Troyer Camp Out, as well as the Fort St John Christmas Party. Between work and bringing fantastic dishes to potlucks, she is currently completing her Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) course. Thank you for all your hard work, DeeAnn!
