Steven tries to repair the photo gear instead of simply replacing parts, as a result, he tends to be much cheaper than most other photo service departments.

The reserve is not crowded due to the low number of lodges. We stay at Ndzhaka (self catering ) and Buffelshoek (fully catered) camps. The animal sightings are very good with regular leopards being seen.

Buffelshoek camp is under new management and has been renovated. It is no longer self-catering - you are provided with all meals. There are daily game drives and a new observation tower so you can see what animals are approaching long before they arrive.

There is no other African national park like the Kruger. It offers visitors everything from diverse landscapes, dirt roads, tar roads, options to stay inside or outside the park, budget camps to 5-star lodges - there's something for every taste.

There are just 5 tents in the unfenced camp. The old bucket showers have been replaced with gas showers and there is now a waterhole in front of the camp. Every night we heard lions, hyena and leopard. By day we saw the big five plus cheetah on the game drives.

Comfortable room, great breakfasts and the owner is a people-person. The house is on road so there is some noise from passing vehicles but other than that it's a good place to stay.

Tree Lodge has eight cabins on stilts high up in the trees. They are spacious and private and accessed via wooden walkways from the communal area. Meals and service are great and the Terrapin underground hide is the highlight for us. In our opinion, Tree Lodge is better than Jaci's Safari Lodge.
