All the buntus 16.04 are shit. Tried them all. How can paid devs put out crap like that. Arch and Manjaro suck as well. There is a problem with grub and it's not just me that's having problems. It won't install even on a partition marked boot. What's got me is why can't a few devs get together and concentrate on one distro with a desktop and just make it perfect. With Linux you've got bits from here bits from there and it just doesn't work. To many cooks as they say. I work on servers for a living and they are awesome but Linux on the desktop sucks ass. The only awesome experience I had with not one problem unless I caused it was Gentoo but I can't be stuffed wasting a whole weekend to install it. People bag out the proprietary guys because they are this and that but at least their shit works ffs. If Linux had 95%of pcs in the world it would have that much malware and viruses written for it. It's the way society is unfortunately the top dog gets knocked down. It's just that in the 2% of the Linux world there is everyone fighting for a bit of their pie. To many distros that do the same fucking thing using the same GNU tools and the Linux kernel. All they do is add a different package manager and desktop. Change the colors and change the icons but it's still Linux underneath. Linux people don't see that shit. It's my distro is better than yours and that is just school ground bullshit. The only distro addressing the fuckup Linux is, is SolusOS. That Ike guy is building a distro that's stable and addressing the bugs within the packages in the system which is a lot more than I can say about other distros. Arch Linux uses vanilla packages that are supposedly tested which is why they have stable and unstable but fuck me why does it break then if it's supposedly to be stable? Why have stable if your going to have breakages and a main component that doesn't fucking work as it should, hence grub. I'm that done with it I went back to Windows because I can actually get work done with out having to fix this and that. It runs, it gets out of my way and my Nvidia card actually works great for a change.

Let's talk..I as a Linux user for many years am getting a bit fed up.."Why Garth are you getting fed up" I'm getting fed up because AMD graphics are getting left out on videos..I know how to configure mine but many don't..The biggy was that Ubuntu no longer are supporting AMD in the new release..not Ubuntu's fault or for that matter AMD's it's just it's a whole pile of rubbish neither the twain shall meet..But even if we go back to 2012 it's all Intel nobody hardly touches AMD..I have given countless instructions to people how to do AMD on Arch or Ubuntu, I might have even looked a Debian can't remember, and you know what it isn't easy or for that matter quick to go through the process..I'm so sick of AMD that I've decided to get rid of hardware..Yes it's got to that point where I can't be bothered..I'm fed up fighting I'm getting older and I just want peace..Sorry for this but this is more me talking to myself which is kind of crap..Anyone who wants to jump in feel free but I'm done with AMD..They were the guys in the past NOT NOW

Hi Garth! Hope all is well. Have you decided to install Nvidia into your computer? If so, which card have you selected? If not, what are you going to install to replace AMD? Just curious. :) Take care!

So this is probably going to piss a few or a lot of you off..Here we go..Starwars was better than the last crap but don't get excited only barely..Why this was handed to JJ or Walt Disney I have no idea and I'm pretty sure it's only going to get worse which looks like it is..So let me digress for a minute..The 60's were a great time we had simple stuff that worked..So now I'm going to get to another set of movies..Bond..In the the days Bond was dark the bad guys were blonde or had no hair what so ever..And as we progressed through most of them we had Pierce Brosnan the final dark bond who was actually very good..Then came along Daniel Craig..mmm Sorry but there was no belief no Bond what so ever..I really wish movie people would stop pissing around with the formula..If you can't do another then stop there DON'T DO IT and stop making crap..So let me wind up these two the new supposed Bond is going to be fair..And Starwars is going to be crap again..My question is what has happened..Is it all down to money because if that's the case we the people have nothing but shit ahead..And for those of you that like this shit..Great enjoy but for me I hate it..I really do..I'm done watching new movies it just gets worse to be honest

Instead of going through the monotony of a Gentoo install Sabayon was a real breeze..The Manjaro of Gentoo sort of but it's great..This might pull me away from Arch for awhile..Ps I don't like Manjaro it's way too bloated for my liking..But those of you who do great just enjoy it or whatever you are using..Linux is freedom and Winstupid or Macoverpriced don't have this..They are oblivious to what is possible

+Mark Zajac No there are worse Mark believe me..But Manjaro isn't bad..Manjaro brought Arch to the masses and that's great and in the old days Manjaro was pretty good..It's now become a completely different distro..It's sluggish, bloated and not adhering to I think the roots it began with..Manjaro is fast becoming Ubuntu before Ubuntu was not that bad..If you understand..I can see a day when Manjaro leave Arch behind and to be honest I think they should do it sooner rather than later..It's a very diluted distro

I'm a little fed up..No actually very fed up..So this is only for people living in the UK who will understand what I'm jabbering about..I like F1 (Formula 1) and it was such a joy to watch it on the BBC..No adverts their own iplayer site was fantastic to watch this wonderful sport at your own leisure..Then 2016 came around and the dreaded Channel 4 won the rights to broadcast this..So I can just about forgive the advertising..only just..but their own site has a iplayer as well..So when the season began I missed the first race broadcast on a Sunday so logged into Channel 4's website..Had to sign up..I mean I ask you pain in the but..But did it then hit the watch button..mmmm loading...mmmm loading...20 minutes later still loading..So to keep this short Channel 4 wont work within a Linux environment..even though this is running through the browser..So I contacted CH4 and gave of stink..Here is the reply even though on their site they do support Windows Mac and Linux..So the email was polite as you'd imagine but this reads and I quote "As of now Channel 4 does not support Linux as the user base is a small percentage compared to the other platforms..We do aim to provide a quality service to everyone but as of yet those using Linux remain unsupported.." I've cut this short..So I wrote back if the user base is so small which really shouldn't matter, how come the BBC can support all systems and you can't..I'm still awaiting a reply after 3-4 weeks..ie they have NO CLUE

+Garth Davison I have used mx-15 os on many family and friends. I add Cairo dock for eye candy. It's stable. I have had no problems even from those with zero linux experience, directly switched from windows.

Top 3 sci-fi movies of all time..There is no CGI and the story lines in each are incredible so for me these three they're just the best so in 3 Starwars and the whole first lot as a package..I think even if you're not a sci-fi fan you can't deny the scope that this trilogy has done for movie kingdom and now 2 Alien it could be horror it is sci-fi but the tension is incredible..Way back when this came out people talked..And Sigourney Weaver at the end gave us the ending we were hoping for..This was just awesome..Confined is always scary and this gave it in spades and so we get to 1 Forbidden Planet..Yes it's old yes it's very old but this is just the most incredible sci-fi movie EVER..And if you think about it it ticks all the boxes that Alien did..1 monster 1 weird person 1 incredible looking girl and a crew who have no idea..Add a storyline from Shakespeare and you have probably the best sci-fi movie ever...My favourite scene is when the crew set up the defence primitar..The guns firing into a narrow canyon is just fab..I still get tingles from this everytime because that's how lasers should work..just being a kid lol..You will probably disagree who knows but these movies excite me over and over again..That doesn't happen now

+Ghost Sixtyseven Ya kind of sad they can't make a good Sci-fi movie these days without doing every scene in green screen, I remember when The Thing remake or Prequel or what ever the hell that movie was suppose to be, the whole back story was explained in Carpenter's version in roughly 5 minutes, I said in the IMDB forums that it would be a flop, reason being is what I stated above you can't make an hour and a half film from a minor sub plot it was just a stupid idea, and the film ended up as we all know forgotten just like I said, people argued till they were blue in the face but in the end I was right, now it's a 99 cent dumpster dive at walmart. lol.

Thoughts on Sabayon it's very good..Am I going to use it as a daily OS NO..Am I going to get rid of it NO..I have forgotten most things Gentoo..But I have to say Rigo is great..It doesn't have everything I need but most of it the rest portage..I'm a little confused..Chrome on every distro once I sign in loads all my settings..Not on this..I remember this happening on Ubuntu years ago but even it gets it right now..I wonder what package of Chrome they are using..Recently I installed the beta version of Chrome on Arch, by accident don't ask, and even it worked fine except for the icon theme which I had to set manually..So no clue..mmm I need to tinker more..I need to find my bloody Gentoo notes to..Oh a very good friend of mine has recommended Calculate Linux for us brain dead Gentoo users this may actually be the Gentoo distro I've been looking for
