Between the Covers...
Most people outside the publishing biz don't realize that authors generally don't get a say in their covers. And sometimes if a cover is beta tested and gets a meh response, the publisher will change the cover. That happened with  Sirenz . Here's the origin...

Protect your nests! Save your trees! That's the rallying call of Jack, a common gray squirrel. Taught by a human friend how to use simple machines, he's leading the charge of animal versus human for ownership of the wood. Introducing my middle grade adventu...

No Emergency if You Prepare
It's that time. I'm not talking about hurricanes, blizzards, flooding, severe cold or wind. I'm talking about NaNoWriMo. (National Novel Writing Month). If you're serious, don't be a twit and wait until the last minute to prepare. Like those who wait until ...

Ask anyone who knows me well, especially my family, I'm all about recycling. I nag my mother to do more of it, I lecture my sons about what their world will be like if we all don't take better care of our earth and resources,...

Story
Introduction
I imagine squirrels taking over the world, love guacamole, struggle to outwit my sons, and try to avoid nano-bots who are conspiring to ruin every piece of technology I touch and make me feel stupid. Yes, I'm a writer and in my world, improbabilities are very likely.
Bragging rights
Have three sons who will support me in my old age, a husband who has to tolerate my whacko-ness, and 3 (so far) books pubbed: Blonde OPS (6/2014, Thos Dunne/St Martin) and the Sirenz series: Sirenz and Sirenz Back In Fashion (Flux). I'm hoping some of my solo books will be snatched up by brilliant publishers also. Keep watching...

They came, gave an estimate, took deposit, then reneged. No sound reason. Unprofessional, untrustworthy- and they didn't care that they were. They don't even deserve one star.

One and a half- Bug on toilet (not dead), no housekeeping service, not enough water available for conference attendees, not enough staff, and a staff that didn't seem to care. Used to be such a great place for a conference. Only nice thing: I somehow got upgraded to an executive suite which was nice (even if they don't send housekeeping up).
