A Picture is Worth... How Much?

Step Into the REAL World...
TV shows and movies (and novels) tend to dramatize crimes. My co-presenter at the NJ SCBWI annual conference, Guy Olivieri, who is a forensic detective with the Woodbridge, NJ police, laughs a little and shakes his head when discussing how things work in th...

Just the Facts, Nothing Else.
"You have the right to remain silent!" We've seen this situation in so many movies, books, and tv programs. And we think we know how it goes. Wrong. Using information provided by forensic crime scene detective Guy Olivieri, my partner 'in crime' at the NJ S...

Most times when you watch a TV show or movie that includes a crime scene or investigations, Hollywood takes a little...license. What you see generally isn't what happens in reality. But adding drama doesn't have to come at th...

Story
Introduction
I imagine squirrels taking over the world, love guacamole, struggle to outwit my sons, and try to avoid nano-bots who are conspiring to ruin every piece of technology I touch and make me feel stupid. Yes, I'm a writer and in my world, improbabilities are very likely.
Bragging rights
Have three sons who will support me in my old age, a husband who has to tolerate my whacko-ness, and 3 (so far) books pubbed: Blonde OPS (6/2014, Thos Dunne/St Martin) and the Sirenz series: Sirenz and Sirenz Back In Fashion (Flux). I'm hoping some of my solo books will be snatched up by brilliant publishers also. Keep watching...

They came, gave an estimate, took deposit, then reneged. No sound reason. Unprofessional, untrustworthy- and they didn't care that they were. They don't even deserve one star.

One and a half- Bug on toilet (not dead), no housekeeping service, not enough water available for conference attendees, not enough staff, and a staff that didn't seem to care. Used to be such a great place for a conference. Only nice thing: I somehow got upgraded to an executive suite which was nice (even if they don't send housekeeping up).
