Dictionary.com Word of the Year 2016: Xenophobia
I receive a daily email from dictionary.com giving me their choice for Word of the Day.  The words are chosen, I'm sure, for their distinctness, current event interest or literary opulence.  Sometimes the word of the day is one I recognize and use in my voc...

A Little Vivaldi to Begin the Christmas Season, Guatemala Style
Cousin Linda and I went to la Iglasia del Hermano Pedro (Brother Peter Church) last night to enjoy a Vivaldi concert. First, let me tell you a little bit about Hermano Pedro, the patron saint of Guatemala.  He was canonized by Pope John Paul II on July 30, ...

Hi Betty and Joe: I was sorry to read the news of selling your RV membership in Desert Hot Springs, but I know that all good things come to an end as life changes occur. I just sold my little RV (Toyota Dolphin) to a friend I met in Guatemala. She flew up to Redding, CA to buy it at my son's house. Now, I have to get Floribunda Flair ready to sell, too. I'm sad to end my RV travel days but it's just now so much fun to do all the RV maintenance work myself these days. And, since I'm pretty settled in Guatemala, the RV is just sitting in CA, gathering dust and decomposing. Sad, but true change in life-styles. Hugs to you both.

Well, I, for one, LOVE Joe's haircut; he looks great with a crew cut! And, I love the photos, all of them, especially the California Poppies! Love to you both!
