Dear student,
If your final short story is entitled "Dairies of a Dead Girl", I will be disappointed to discover it is, in fact, about a journal and not a milkmaid.
Also, I will take off points.

We all know my opinion of the Smith/Moffat seasons of Doctor Who by now, right?
So I apologize for having dug up yet another blog post about it, except that this one expresses my issues with it far more articulately than I ever have.

One of my students keeps writing "vibrant" when he means visible.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Also, he keeps referring to Conan Doyle as "she". Did I miss something?

+Karin Maraney, I don't know why this made me think of you before anyone else, but it did.

Best TA moment so far:
(I just ended section by saying a few things about the short story assignment they have the option of doing for this class)
Student 1 - "So you were talking about stories and I just wanted to let you know that it's national novel writing month-"
Me - Yeah, it's Nanowrimo.
Student 2 - Ahh, she's one of us.

(If you follow Ursula Vernon, you may have run into this blog as the Narnia Deconstruction to which she was referring).
