First News Weekend Anchor
Introduction

David Earl is a Midwest native who grew up just down the road. Well – OK, not just down the road, more like seven hours down I-80. A native of Joliet, Ill. in the Chicagoland area, David’s thrilled to be in one of the great Midwest cities.

David moved to Omaha and joined the KETV family in June 2013. You can catch him weekdays on KETV NewsWatch 7 First News, and while you might think he’s not a fan of the 1:30 a.m. wake up calls, he thrives on bringing you the big story you missed while sleeping. In fact, David’s worked his whole career in morning news. He was a morning reporter and anchor at KOMU-TV in Columbia, Mo. and was the morning and midday anchor at WMAZ-TV in Macon, Ga. His stories include everything from investigations into Food Stamp spending, interviews with Grammy-nominated musicians, and new safety measures on school buses. But what he loves most are stories about money and finance. Luckily, he’s now in a city that’s home to a robust economy.

David graduated from the University of Missouri’s School of Journalism where he was also a contributing writer for MIZZOU, the alumni magazine. Go Tigers! When he’s not at work, David enjoys golfing (though his swing needs work), biking, and traveling. March is David’s favorite month because he’s a huge college basketball fan.
