Impressive, Though Disappointing - Review of Shame
I had looked forward to Shame (2011) since I first heard about it, largely due to the Michael Fassbender and Carey Mulligan. So when I began watching it my hopes were high. Unfortunately too high.

Shame is a good movie. The acting is superb and the story is not bad at all either. Despite this, it had some problems captivating me and even though several individual scenes were extremely well done, the movie as a whole felt lacking. It might sound strange, but I found Shame to be impressive while at the same time being disappointing.

On an additional note I have to admit that even though I knew Shame was about a sex addict, I was still surprised by the amount of nudity and explicit sex scenes. Refreshing to see a movie be this bold and honest.
