No Happily Ever After - Blue Valentine review
Already from the very first scenes it was clear that tonight's movie wasn't going to include a happily ever after. The movie was Blue Valentine (2010) and I had looked forward to it since Michelle Williams got an Oscar nomination for best performance by an actress in a leading role for it.

Blue Valentine is not an all the way through depressing movie as some could accuse it of, but rather a very realistic love story. It does not tell the fairy tale love story, but instead how the tale unfortunately often turns out. It is a love story with its ups and downs; with the majority of the ups being in the beginning of the relationship.

I found myself skeptical at first, but Blue Valentine grew on me and turned out to be a good movie. A movie, however, I can only recommend if you can handle something that isn't all smiles and laughter.
