+ChurchTechToday why do churches primarily use Vimeo instead of YouTube for video. If we are trying to reach the most people as possible I would think that YouTube would be the first place to go. 1 billion users per month vs 60 million is a huge difference. Also YouTube is free for the church to use.

Dim some lights while turning off others to watch a movie.

I set up Google Home to dim two of my lights while Turin another one off when I say. Hey Google, I am watching a movie. Google responds with. OK, let me dim the lights.

Google Home

This one took some work.

Using Stringify I set up two lights to dim and another to turn off from Smartthings, when there was a IFTTT trigger.

Set up IFTTT with Google Assistant command as the IF and for the THEN the Stringify flow we just set up.

With IFTTT and Stringify Google Home is much more powerful.

Turn on any TV with Google Home.

I have set up my TV and receiver to turn on, set the input to my Chromecast, and set the input on the receiver to the TV.

This is how it is done.

What you need

Google Home
Smartthings hub
Logitech Harmony hub

On your Logitech Harmony hub, Set up an action for the TV and receiver.

Add the Harmony hub as a Thing on the Smartthings hub, as well as the action you just set up.

Allow Google Home access to the Harmony hub action and set the room it is in.

Now you can say: Hey Google, turn on the TV

This has got me thinking about my stressful busy life. I feel like it is organized but I don't think it is prioritised.
