WHY INGRESS IS BETTER THAN GOOGLE MAPS:

1.  Ingress doesn't come with all those messy labels and stuff, just big glowy landmarks.
2.  You can't doodle on Google Maps.
3.  For that matter, you can't blow stuff up (or build stuff) on Google Maps.
4.  Google Maps won't let you know when someone's messing with your turf.
5.  You don't get to see when someone ragequits Google Maps.
6.  Google maps keeps giving you suggestions.  Ingress knows to stay the hell out of the way and let you do your job (see #3).
7.  Google Maps' website is only slightly more informative than the mobile client (even if Ingress Intel doesn't have an API yet, grrrr).
8.  You don't often meet new people because of Google Maps.
9.  How often have you looked at a place you haven't been on Google Maps and gone "Okay, I've never been there but we've got to take that [bad word] down tonight."
10.  You don't get to have an impromptu picnic/pub crawl with people you met on Google Maps.

WTF, OBAMA GOING TO CONGRESS FOR AUTHORIZATION ON MILITARY ACTION?  DOES THIS MEAN HE THINKS HE'S SOME KIND OF EXPERT IN CONSTITUTIONAL LAW?*

*aside from the whole, yanno, him having been a professor of Constitutional Law thing, and the whole "the NSA, CIA, and many law enforcement agencies have been crapping all over the fourth, fifth, and fourteenth Amendments for six presidential terms at the very least, if not since J. Edgar Hoover and the OSS decided to go to crazy town.

Seriously, I think it's a good thing he's not relying on the AUMF or treaty obligations to exercise war powers, and we may be seeing a slowing of the effective (if not actual) "better to ask forgiveness than permission" standard of military action.  What may be excellent is that he might not want to bomb Syria after all, in which case asking this particularly dysfunctional Congress to come to an agreement on this ugly and crazy-making complicated issue during Congressional recess is probably the absolute best face-saving way to avoid doing it (though it would be simpler if he just said "nah, let's call for an arms and dual-use materiel embargo to Syria or some such, only let's try and not starve the population the way the embargo did in Iraq" - excepting the fact that getting Russia and China behind such a move would be nearly impossible)

I'm probably being overly optimistic though, with how much Raytheon's stock has already gone up with the possibility of a Tomahawk attack being bandied about (and therefore how much lobbying money Raytheon, et al have dropped on Congress).

The male Sumatran tiger cub born at the Smithsonian National Zoo.  These cubs are two weeks old, and getting their first check-up.  Tiger cubs are born a bit immature, so it takes about two weeks before they can be sexed.

Just in case you had forgotten that the shutdown is completely owned by the House GOP (please watch and share):

(tl;dw: On October 1st, the House amended the rules of the House so that ONLY the Majority Leader (Eric Cantor) or his designee may introduce a bill to the floor of the House under any circumstances)

Treason.
Can't think of what, other than racketeering for sedition, sabotage and terrorism one can call this.

+Tammy Kulaga-Souza +Chris Souza This would complete the transformation of your vehicle into an Ingress War Machine!

Ingress Resistance Mobile Intelligence Console online.

Remarks:
Interface is slow, but usable. Will look into more optimized browsers and tweaks for better performance.

Just picked up a RPi B, was thinking of trying something like this. The problem is the Intel map sucks. If they spent the time making the mobile version even remotely usable, instead of playing cat-and-mouse with the IITC guys ... <nothing nice to say>

Before you read this, I would like to remind you that it is 2013, not 1954.

Please keep this in mind as you find yourself lunging out of your chair and screaming "WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?!?"
