Although pixel-perfection on Linux Mint is not particularly high on my list of priorities, I decided to give it a virtual peek.

The new GTK3 codebase seems to run well with Cinnamon and the default Mint theme. I couldn't see any major visual issue.

If you are a regular Polly user, you might know that, when you try to open a column, the application does not check whether an equivalent column is already opened or not. This means you can have as many instances of the same column as you want. Don't you find this remarkably useful?

Yeah. Me neither.

Hence why I'm fixing this for 0.94. As the video below shows, when you try to open a column for the second time, Polly moves to it instead of opening a new instance.

(ignore the bizarre menu rendering error near the end, it was caused by the recording)

+Polly Twitter Client I know this is a pet projet for you, that's why I spent sometimes creating a wireframe and commenting it (see: http://is.gd/wwSJgw). But at least 'Column' is a ill-choosen label as menu should use either verb or adjective ('Menu' 1st guidelines [1]).
First, for the menubar I would recommend to follow the 'standard menu' guidelines [2] with some adatptation to your application (i.e. Account | Edit | View | Insert | Help). Then, change the layout as it waste so much real estate which can be used to display content and information. On that purpose I did a wireframe based on version 0.93 layout and your new features.
Have a look at GNOME's Human Interface Guidelines, especially the one about menu (see links below).
Links:
'Menu' guidelines: http://is.gd/ltwW0f ;
'Standard menu' guidelines: http://is.gd/iu0rev ;

Thanks for your hard work :)

Some people are questioning my competence and integrity due to the lack of frequent releases.

I would like to emphasize that this is a hobby project and my main point with it is designing and implementing a specific vision by myself. I care about learning and being satisfied with what I release, not releasing as fast as possible.

Hence why I always said I can't compromise to specific dates. I always made that very clear, so accusing me of breaking promises is disheartening.

I have no intention of making Polly a primary source of income. I constantly tell people that they should donate only to thank for what has already been done, not to accelerate development. I  want to keep working on it for fun. Please don't take the fun away with unnecessary insults and accusations.

+Heimen Stoffels I can't read +Wes Morgan's mind, but he didn't really specify whether he was talking about the current code. People can still write code themselves by starting their own project from scratch or forking the GTK2 version.

After all, judging by the tone of some criticism I receive, Polly is an easy project that any idiot can code in a week...

My system now allows smooth live resizing, so it's much easier to show the discrete scrolling system working.

And now, just for fun, the animations I've shown in the last months working together.

The video works better if you play "I like to move it, move it" alongside it.
