A forthright resource for news, opinion, and activism
Introduction
Who are we?
The Progressive Press is a forthright resource for news, opinion, and activism. Our focus is on the dispensing of factual information from a forward-thinking point of view. Not only do we wish to inform, we hope to inspire and motivate our readers into taking a more active role in our politics and society at large.

Who authors our news and editorials?
We are a Web-based organization not affiliated with any of the USA media conglomerates. Our team includes independent and international journalists, ordinary people from around the country and around the world, grassroots leaders and peace activists, artists, academics and independent analysts.

Our Mission:
We believe the independent media play a vital role in keeping the public informed and maintaining democratic processes. The Progressive Press portal combines original investigative reporting, major breaking news and smart analysis from progressive voices. Ultimately, our mission is to keep the public informed and engaged on national and international issues so that, at the very least, people take a more enthusiastic role in electing national leaders, and have a more efficacious discourse on world issues.
