On 28 April 2017, UN-APCICT in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Science, of Kyrgyz Republic, Central Asian Research and Education Network (CAREN), and Kyrgyz State Technical University, co-organized the High Level Briefing on the Primer Series on ICTD for Youth.

The briefing highlighted the enabling role of ICT in achieving the 2030 Development Agenda and the importance of strengthening the coverage of ICTD education in university curricula. It introduced APCICT’s learning resources (called Primer Series) on ICT for development that could be used by university professors and lecturers in undergraduate and graduate courses.

#APCICTWIFI Cambodia Training of Trainers started today at the Office of the Council of Ministers. ToTs are being organized in two tracks - for policymakers and women entrepreneurs until 21 December. The session for policymaker focuses on the importance of a gender-responsive government (including gender-sensitive policies and services) in order create an inclusive and accessible enabling environment for them. The TOT session for women entrepreneurs introduces the key concepts of women's empowerment and entrepreneurship; present challenges faced by women ICT; and the role of ICT in supporting women’s entrepreneurship. The TOTs will help expand the pool of national resource persons in Cambodia who can deliver #APCICTWIFI training at the community level.

Its Core Module 2 on Enabling Role of ICT for Women Entrepreneurs introduces the key concepts of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurs. It also focuses on the global status of women entrepreneurs, entrepreneurship's relations to women's empowerment, its barriers and enablers faced by women entrepreneurs, and the role of ICT in women's entrepreneurship.
