I'm a mother to two kids, living in a multi-family duplex. One family member has Alzheimer's, another one is on the autism spectrum. I do a lot of caregiving work. In the USA, caregivers' work is undervalued. In the future, our economy needs to take into consideration the value of maintaining people's health in the domestic sphere. This is called Caring Economics or Social Wealth and it's a partnership paradigm in which to envision our global domestic product. Oh my gosh, I just wrote a blog for HandmadeMN about Minnesota crafters and the Kentucky Derby! What the heck? Well, I was asked to do it, so I did. Do wear hats? yes I do. Do I like horse racing? No, I don't particularly care for it. But I understand that it's important to many people. Do I like Mint Juleps? I don't know! I've never had one.
