Is that a real roller coaster in your picture? I feel like throwing up just looking at it. :-D
I think it's always possible to regret one's choices, but if they are made for sound reasons, it's most likely we will be at peace with them, ultimately.  I think choosing dignity (whatever that means for you) is always a sound choice.

Haha! loved reading this. I too have very little experience  with young children, okay make that none for all practical purposes. I work with high school  age kids in my job.  I have no particular interest in other people's children, unless it is my job to teach them, then I  get interested in them. I sometimes wonder how I will react to an actual live child after dealing with all the infertility stuff. Trying to conceive takes up so much of  my mental space I tend to think barely at all about being a parent. Would I even like it, indeed. Would I be any good at all? I figure that I'll deal with it when it happens because I'll have to. Anyway, it sounds like you did a wonderful  job with your niece.

Wow, this is such  an awesome post! Thank you! I was pondering these thoughts the other day, but they didn't come out in such  a coherent fashion, LOL. But I like this so much I'm going to link to it from my entry:

Great post!  enjoyed your thoughts on jealousy: agreed, it is negative and  pointless although hard to avoid at times. And yes: life is too short to have toxic relationships suck the life out of you!
