I went looking for my tuxedo cat, Angel. I found your picture on my hunt. Very nice. I didn't find Angel, though. HLB

Vien Dong Fareast
1730 East Sprague Avenue, Spokane, WA 99202
The atmosphere doesn't matter so much when the food is fresh and delightful to the senses. I repeatedly order tofu vermicelli and receive a mound of the freshest vegetables, including asparagus. Every time I request extra sauce, I get it.

I've been to another local Vietnamese restaurant and tried to order vegetarian vermicelli and they looked at me like I was nuts. It took a lot of explaining to get the dish the way I wanted it, even though it was simple. I've never experienced problems at Vien Dong, because the dishes I want are right on the menu (they think ahead). Also, there just isn't a comparison when it comes to the fresh vegetable selection at Vien Dong vs. other places I've been to in Spokane.

Ross Dress For Less
5504 North Division Street, Spokane, WA 99208
Went to Ross (North Division) to browse while waiting for my friend to meet me for lunch. I was followed around by the Loss Prevention "man" who kept giving me the eye even as I waited at the front of the store with my one item in hand. To top it off, once my friend arrived and we went through check-out the cashier did not even make eye contact with us--not a single time. When we began to walk away I had to say, "Thank you!" to get her to mumble a "Thank you!" in return. I can't remember the last time I've been treated so rudely: first like a criminal and then as if I didn't even exist.

Thai Bamboo Restaurant
5406 North Division Street, Spokane, WA 99207
The food was terrible. We ordered a panang curry with tofu. Instead of the tofu being plain, it tasted as if it had Italian bread seasoning. This did not mix well with the panang curry. We'd heard the food was bad, but we wanted to try it out anyway. I don't recommend Thai Bamboo for authentic tasting Thai cuisine. (I have eaten homemade Thai most of my life and my companion was Laotian.)

I had nine renal aneurysms and a kidney infection and they wanted to send me to a gynecologist. Later, when I needed my medical records for the UW transplant surgery team, SFFC told me they would get them to me in a "week". All other medical offices involved in my care understood the urgency of medical condition and gave me the records that day.
