Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota, Florida has been the spring training home to several major league baseball teams including the Chicago White Sox, the Cincinnati Reds, and current spring training facility of the the Baltimore Orioles.  It has also been home to 3 minor league baseball teams--the Sarasota White Sox, the Sarasota Red Sox, and the Sarasota Reds. The stadium was building in 1989 & well renovated in 2011.  The stadium seats over 7400 & plenty of standing room too.  The seats in the stadium are refurbished seats from Camden Yards, home of the Baltimore Orioles, in Baltimore, Maryland.  Barack Obama once spoke here back in 2008 during his presidential campaign.  #BaltimoreOrioles #EdSmithStadium #SarasotaFlorida

Florida history lesson: The Great 1909 Auto Race from Tampa-to-Jacksonville around trip.  The race was run to show the need for roads in Florida back in the early 1900s.  The promotion did help to facilitate bonds & construction of highways in the state of Florida. The round trip race took 4 days to complete back in 1909.  Today you can drive from Tampa to Jacksonville and back to Tampa in a matter of 6-7 hours assuming no major complications take place along the way.

It's truly amazing the history lessons you can get just walking around downtown Tampa. They have these historical markers/posts all over the city & give you pretty good history lessons of Tampa & the surrounding area.  Students are taught very little of this stuff in school.

Seeing my first game at the Charlotte Sports Complex in Port Charlotte Florida.  It's a pretty impressive facility for a minor league ballpark and the spring training facility of the Tampa  Bay Rays. Although the drizzling late afternoon rain was a little annoying, it was still worth seeing a game here at the stadium.  The hometown Stone Crabs won both doubleheader games against the Brevard County Manatees.  Afterwards, they put on a pretty good fireworks show.

This it a copy of the popular "Unconditional Surrender" statue in Sarasota, Florida. The original statue was located in Sarasota, Florida in 2005.  In 2007 it was moved to San Diego, California & then in 2015 it was moved to New York City, New York.  There are several copies of  this statue in the US and Europe.  Based on a photograph taken by Victor Jorgensen, it represents the tremendous joy of the unconditional surrender of the Japanese and the end of World War II.

Introduction
So you think you know me do you? Have we met some where before? Really, where?  I've lived in a lot of places around the world. So where did we meet exactly?  I currently reside in Tampa, Florida, but who knows where I will end up next.

Location & hours of operation from where I live is probably the best thing I can say about this Fantastic Sams. The service is slow & they need more hairstylists. The main reason I went was because I had a $5.00 coupon. A basic cut & shampoo will run you $20.00. Kind of pricey for a basic haircut & shampoo. Then depending on the length of your hair & other services, the prices go up from there. I did at least get a good haircut.

They did a good job with my altering my suit pants. Although a bit a pricey side, it was certainly a better option to buying a new suit. Plus they are not too far from where I live. Good location for me. I would use them in the future.
