Vegetables were cooked perfectly - crunchy but infused with the curry. The curry - it was fantastic. I ordered the hottest level, and it had a great burn without overpowering the flavor. I can believe that they make all their curries and spice mixtures in-house. The chicken was cooked nicely, and was a good savory mix of dark and light meats.

Average for Thai - flavors were sub-par and the quality was just generally bellow that of most Thai restaurants I've been to. Their claim to be "organic" is very questionable to me. It was basically there word; no literature or specifics were offered on how these ingredients were actually ingredient. And yes, the price was over priced - over $17 for a single cury dish.

Food was nasty and over priced. I have been to Thailand... These people need to go back and hang with Grandma for a few months to regain their mojo. Over priced and the Thai Tea was the worst my wife and I have ever had. Oh... And the only highchair in the place has a busted strap so my 13 month old kept climbing on the table... I think she was trying to tell is not to eat the food... cause my wife actually got sick later on that evening!

The best curries I have had. I have eaten here several times and had a different one each time. Good vegetarian options. Nice selection of drinks including odd beers.

This place is digusting. Horrible food that makes you sick and even worse is the customer service. After the doors close, they take all their fish guts from the day and leave them outside for the wild cats to feed on. RIGHT OUTSIDE THE ENTRANCE DOOR! These pictures were taken right next to the entrance. Roaches and everything. If that's not a health code violation then I don't know what is. I will never eat here again and advise no one else to.
Response from the owner - a year ago
We do not leave fish guts outside the door. We do leave dry cat food in the parking lot for the neutered strays that live in the area as many businesses do. Anyone can drop food on the ground outside our doors and take a foto

Lotus Cafe is located in the new industrial area in the corner of a big box building. But once you enter, it's like crossing the ocean to a small village in Thailand. The food is all organic and fresh and the effect is noticeable. You will feel healthier when you leave. The people are friendly, the atmosphere is darker and more intimate than most Asian restaurants and the music is low key. Full choice of beers and wine. Easy access from Kona via the main highway.
