I really enjoyed my previous experience it another Ztejas. This time, however, I was a bit disappointed. They were just way too busy which I understand, so I won't rate them any lower. But we had too wait for 45 minutes plus for our food after we sat down. Plus they screwed up some things on my wife's order. To be fair they ended up comp-ing it though. Good food, just avoid if they are overly busy cause the service suffers.

I really enjoyed happy hour at the Z Tejas at the Arboretum. I had no idea they had such a pretty view at sunset and a huge fireplace outside so you can eat outside if you're only going for happy hour deals. The margaritas are really good! (I had a flight.) I loved the diablo pasta with jerk chicken.

Came here during happy hour to check out what all the talk was about with their new happy hour menu. The drink specials was not all what I thought it would be. Not too much to choose from and seemed quite pricey for a happy hour special. Maybe I was on the wrong side of town. They even got rid of their half price wine bottles on Monday.. Booooo.. Our server seemed new, but he did a good job. There were other people that assisted him when he would fall behind. There were numerous food items on the list. I love the street tacos, cornbread, and catfish beignets. It was delicious. They have a nice covered patio to enjoy that nice Austin day.

We were there in late July 2014, Main dish before the starter did a bad impression, After that incident it's hard to fully enjoy the food, the serving staff sat in the dining area as any guests, in a full restaurant the staff should be occupied with serving the guests, no time to sit down. I guess it's a management problem to let the staff do that.

Great happy hour experience. Lovely little spot and great outside patio area. Great 5$ drink specials and queso appetizer. Great service and nice setting in the Austin Hill country!

While I don't typically like steakhouses due to their stuffy-vibe, Z'Tejas was refreshingly laid-back. The skillet corn bread was pretty good, not very sweet but moist and tasty. The food was all great and we were definitely too stuffed for dessert! My coworkers all had margaritas and said they were great though I can't vouch personally.

I've been to the one on Avery Ranch. This location, while well-laid out and scenic, is not even close to comparing to the Avery Ranch restaurant location. I'll even go so far as to say that if I didn't know better, I wouldn't think they were in the same chain of restaurants. I went to lunch with some friends yesterday. The restaurant seemed really empty, but it seems that they were woefully understaffed. It took us at least one half hour to get our food. I just asked for a box to carry it out. I didn't even have time to eat it. On top of that, the order was wrong. I asked for shrimp and chicken fajitas and got chicken and beef. Both were extremely dry. I think the manager understood that there were some quality issues and that my food was all wrong. She brought me out the missing shrimp and the cook had added the original chicken, as well. Then, the manager comp'd my whole meal. That's the main reason my rating is three stars. If not for their efforts, I would have given two.

Arrived at restaurant and was told we had to wait for the rest of our party, while our table was already set for us. We ordered drinks at the bar just as the hostess told us our table was ready. Then we had to wait at the bar for the bill there. Then when we were seated at the table the waiter asked us if we needed drinks. o _ o When he brought the chips for the appetizers they were crumbs. Called him back and he laughed as he looked at the basket of broken chips. Finally were able to order our main entrees. When asked for recommendation he mentioned several items on menu. More on that later. Our food arrived and as mentioned was good. At the end of the meal when he brought the ticket he told me that he had never eaten the entree that he recommended to me but that other patrons had said it was good. The food was good and the service was attentive but slightly sarcastic, bordering on rude. I don't think I will eat there again.... overpriced in a ritzy part of town.
