Avoid this place the food was over salted and over priced. The portions were tiny even for Manhattan prices. The waiter tried many times to convince us to get the fixed dinner which had basic american chinese takeout fare. And to top it all off they charged the tip and tried to hide it in the bill.

Good occidentalized Chinese food but not the place you want to go if you are looking for a real Chinatown experience. Here you will get what you would find anyplace else in the US or even in Europe. It is way too expensive, especially when one block further you would enjoy a more traditional food in the middle of people only speaking Chinese; including the waiters for a ridiculously low price. Only a place for those who don't want to try something really different.

I had a really horrible expeiences in this restarurant, the service and waiter are so disrespect and terrible.. waiter will try to find an "excuse" to force you to accept the wrong order, and he even try to tell everybody who works in the restarurant that how annoyed he had from us. At the end, they put the check on our table while we still eating and sit there just for 15 mins, Beware!!!

Soup dumplings usually outstanding-- best when you can see grandma making them in the street-facing window. American Chinese standards are tasty--guests loved their sweet and sour chicken and fried rice. Husband craves the spicy peanuts that come with a cold Tsing-Tao or cocktail at happy hour and dinner.

As Ming Tsai, of Emmy-nominated PBS series "Simply Ming" chose Shanghai Cuisine as his FAVORITE Downtown DUMPLING Simply Delisioso! The BEST( Veg) Downtown DUMPLIINGS: shitake mushrooms, cabbage: the simple life + bite of bitter vinegar will put hair on your chest. It's located directly across the street from the Chen Dance Center, which is how I discovered this awesome place. Its delicious but as the honest waitstaff mention the fish portions are slim (but fresh, tender & succulent) & flavors are mega tasty (good for dieting) :) You can watch the dumplings being made thru the window, and it's a bit like live culinary theater; yes its that FRESH!

Delicious food! Great service! Affordable prices! A tiny bit crowded and a little on the loud side, and servers have a thick accent making them a little hard to understand...not sure they understood me much either, lol! Nice place tho, right in the heart of Chinatown for a great experience!

We came upon this place by accident but we were lucky! The dumplings were delicious, tasty and light. Kung Po Chicken and crispy duck mains were too big but very tasty and fresh. Fruit smoothies were yummy too! Great value for money and you can take left-overs home for tomorrow!
