Enjoyed our family stay in this massive convention hotel in downtown Atlanta. Most major destinations are going to be as accessible from this hotel as any other place in town, as far as I could tell. Pool has probably not had a major overhaul in the property's 26 years, and the clock is ticking on the 90s decor, but generally the room and common spaces were clean and well maintained. Collecting a car from the valet is a minor pain, requiring an elevator transfer in the lobby. First world problem? Sure, but considering the cost ($32/day) something like that becomes more noticeable. Generally though, this is a better than average place to stay. Fun time waster: Take the elevator to the top floor and look down the 48- story tall atrium.

Amazing! We always enjoy our stay at the Marriot Marquis! My girls are blown away at the beauty of this magnificent Hotel. The rooms are super nice & cozy. We love the view from our room because of the amazing sky line. The Mariot Hotel is our family's favorite brand Hotel. You can not go wrong with this pick you'll keep coming back.

I stayed at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis for a conference from April 18-22, 2014. The great secret to enjoying this hotel is the short, covered pedestrian bridge that connects it to the Peachtree Center, where you can find great, reasonably priced food and conveniences and reach a major MARTA train station. There's an unpretentious sushi bar, a Benihana's, and an amazing place called Momo's Cafe where hot breakfast is cooked to order or sold by the pound, and many other non-chain eateries. You can reach the passageway to Peachtree Center behind High Velocity. Fantastic architecture - the interior is like being inside of a gigantic space whale. Conference center is large yet navigable. Staff was in most cases friendly and courteous. The two restaurants were Sear (seafood, sleek and modern, staggeringly overpriced) and High Velocity (sports bar, heavy on screens and noise) served food of reasonable quality. Try the Simple Fish at Sear and quesadillas at High Velocity. Avoid the burgers.

To be completely honest, the hotel wasn't very great. We found a few cockroaches in our hotel room the first day we arrived. I did not like that the hotel did not have a fridge or microwave of any kind and also wanted to charge for our food to be warmed up. Personally, I think things like that should be free or at least available to be done by the guest. Also, I was charged an incidentals fee upfront without being told about it at all when I had already prepaid completely for my stay through the website of the event I attended. The only redeeming quality was the staff, who were willing to work with us on the issue of the fee and were pleasant about things in general. However, I will not be returning to this hotel if at all possible.

My husband and I took our two young grandsons for a day out to some of the attractions in Atl. while they were visiting on spring break. After researching and reading many reviews, I planned to stay at the Marriott Marquis because of its location to many of the attractions we wanted to attend. We were greeted very promptly and respectfully by valet and baggage service. Check in was pretty quick and the room was clean. However, it would have been nice to have a mini fridge and microwave considering the price. Nevertheless, it was a good overall experience. We loved the view from the room and the glass elevators. We would stay at this hotel again.

Employees were great and very helpful. Unfortunately they didn't have a pool for my female companion and the weigh room wasn't that great. Location is great though and would stay again.
