When You Look for the Bad Expecting to Find It, You Surely Will
I was disappointed (but not altogether surprised) to read a post at The American Catholic today in which blogger Donald McCleary agrees with a post at " St. Corbinian's Bear " proclaiming that "The tone of [Pope Francis'] Papacy is anger ." My response:  a ...

Francis' Burial
Here are some pictures from Francis' burial on Saturday, June 6, at Holy Cross Cemetery . Laying Francis to rest. The coffin and blanket on top were provided by the funeral home. I was given the blanket to keep. Francis' name will be carved on this stone. F...

7 Quick Takes Friday - March 27, 2015
--- 1 --- Whew, what a busy month it's been! I can't believe Lent is almost over. --- 2 --- As I mentioned in my QT two weeks ago, we decided to spend a few days in California during the kids' (and Collin's) spring break. The reason we went to California? W...

Happy National Grammar Day!
Let's celebrate! Sadly, I don't think I'd like this drink -- I'm not a fan of gin and I don't like olives. But I applaud the concept!

Why Are We Pushing NFP? Because Sometimes It's Needed.
Emerging from my blogging hiatus to address a particularly tiresome article from the "holier-than-thou" Church brigade. This time it's Michael Voris hosting an article by Dr. Jay Boyd, claiming that the Church is wrong in "pushing" NFP. Note that Boyd claim...

My Blogiversary
Image from Baby Belly Kelli I started this blog six years ago today (which I only remembered thanks to my Timehop app). I know I don't update very consistently, but it's nice to have an outlet if I need one. Here's to many more years!

How an Arizona Transplant Figured Out Lefse-Making
Lefse-making was always a big deal in my house when I was growing up. My mom would invite a houseful of relatives over, and the kids would run wild as the adults riced twenty pounds of potatoes and made hundreds of batches of lefse. Sometimes we'd have two ...

Exciting News!
Peter is a big brother! We are expecting our sixth child on December 12, 2015. It's been kind of a rough pregnancy so far, as I won't take Zofran this time around, but I think I've mostly got a handle on the nausea now. (More details about that here .) We'l...

7 Quick Takes Friday - March 6, 2015
Thanks to Kelly at This Ain't the Lyceum for hosting! 1. We had a joint birthday celebration/extended family dinner for William and Violet last Saturday at Golden Corral (their choice of venue; they both love the chocolate fountain), so last night we celebr...

I Have a Seven-Year-Old!
My oldest son turns seven today! Since this picture was taken, he's lost his two front teeth! He's gone from a tiny 6lb, 4oz baby ( 4 weeks early! ) to a tall young man who excels in school and loves playing Xbox (as well as classic Nintendo) with his dad. ...

My son has been treated on an outpatient basis at Phoenix Children's for over a year now. We're very pleased with the care he has received. The staff has always been caring and helpful, and the facility itself is beautiful.

Dr. Newman has delivered one of my children and was my PCP for the other (my youngest was born an hour before Dr. Newman came on call, which is the only reason he didn't deliver him as well!). He is an excellent physician, and the nurse practitioner, Sandra Kelman, is wonderful. They've always given me great care and attention, and have thoroughly respected my beliefs and opinions when it came to my pregnancy and childbirth experiences.

Commenter "Mawali" is incorrect, this is an actual Arby's location. Maybe he just couldn't find it? It's a good enough place but I wish they had a drive-thru.
