Welcome to the WHYY Google+ page. Let us know what you'd like to see here.
WHYY, I am 73 years old and I love your programming but your fund drive could use an overhaul. Time worn people, ethnicity, phrases and staid Anglican dignity can get worn out. How about an overhaul? During the week's drive time what about poignant and /or joyful moments from some of the week end shows (breaks the monotony and introduces some to programming they have been missing. What about a varicolor of voices? This week I heard a newer and younger voice who actually provided a hearty unscripted laugh! I realized some "spice" and "spontaneity" was not in the timeworn mix. Younger people do listen but reach out and grab them! speak to them! Remind them this is their station too! They are not voyeurs/ease droppers to their parents' programming. Besides, breaking the 'same old, "same old", it will help keep old timers and subscribers like me, from station surfing during the "time worn" necessity of fundraising. This same message goes for WHYY TV also. Boring!! Yes, it fits the present demographics and I did increase my donation when you had Dr. Northrup, but that ought to worry you about the future, not keep you complacent. Don't throw away the time worn things that work, but shake it up, lighten it up, public broadcasting is for everyone you reach out and interest, not dull a bit. Diversity is not just about skin color and gender. Go For It. Make it live!
