The service was great, the steaks we're fine, the appetizers were good, the sides were excellent. But this place was over hyped. I wasn't a fan of the cut selection. I consider myself a Critic of Fine Meats, hence the three stars. I certainly wouldn't mind eating here again don't get me wrong, the food is pretty good. However, if I wanted a great steak experience I probably would not come back here and would go to a few of the other great and older steakhouses in New York City.

One of the best Steakhouses in the city. Great location! That being said, and as much as I love a great dry aged steak, between great steakhouses there is little difference in my opinion. If the seal is properly aged and not over cooked then it should be very similar. I never eat my steak with sauce as I feel that it detracts from the meat which means even less to mess up. The sides were good which.

The best steak I've ever had was here. Well worth it! Great ambiance, too.

Quick review: Decent food Terrible service Felt rushed Expensive for the treatment you get Do not recommend Long review why: Food was decent but the service was terrible. The server wanted us to order everything all up front. Drinks, apps, and entrees. We had a pregnant person in our group and we asked if the bartender could make a fun mocktail. Her response was that no one ever orders mocktails. Way to make a pregnant girl feel like a loser! After we finished dinner, she asked if we wanted dessert, we said no and she hovered around our table cleaning all the plates and silverware. She even pulled a napkin out under a guest's elbow. If you finished your water, she took your cup. It was so uncomfortable we obviously had to leave. The worst part was that we were going to dinner with a business vendor who wanted to treat us and dinner wasn't enjoyable just because of the service. I give this place a DO NOT recommend based on purely terrible service. Your money will go a lot further in other places that deserve it.

I like to keep track of the best steak I have had and this is the new champion! Service was great, really knowledgeable and let us take our time. Great place we got very lucky with a table so make sure you book. It's well worth it and when I'm back in NYC I'll be coming here first!

I make a point to have a meal at Benjamin's every time I'm in the city. The food is amazing, but the service is even better. Such attentiveness and attention to detail.

I am writing this for Moms and Dads who might not know the potential fire hazard your stroller has at Quality Meats. Unfortunately, we never made it past the front door. I was so excited about this reservation and even called ahead of time to remind them that my son wouldn't be eating (since he is 8 mos), but I included him in our reservation count. When we arrived, I was told that we weren't allowed to bring our baby stroller because it's a fire hazard. Now, I am a realist and can understand why a crowded restaurant wouldn't want a stroller in the main dining room.... but, they should have told me this prior. In my reservation on Open Table and my phone conversation with the restaurant I mentioned my infant son and at no-time did any restaurant staff mention they didn't accommodate strollers. I left feeling embarrassed, but ultimately just be warned that Quality Meats doesn't allow babies in strollers.

Very good steaks. Most if their fare is on the heavy/salty side, even for a steakhouse. I'd also say that their individual steaks are better than their porterhouse, however I've never been a fan of filet mignon,so tend to prefer the rib steak part.
