I enjoy that even during peak holiday periods, I can still find a beach that is not packed out.

Any ideas for the OP please?
A friend has set me the task of entering an essay competition with dinner on her if I win. Accepted. NOW I need some input on that which you think as "Australian Life" - who we are and how we live. As many ideas as there are people?

Gathering as many opinions as possible (as soon as possible) would be a great help and hopefully avoid my tendency to revert to verse when under pressure!
SO - your idea of who we are and how we live?

Equally as interesting to me will be impressions from persons who are not Australian as to ideas of who are these people who call themselves Australian and do they live in ways that are similar or different from the rest of the world.

My 1968 Series 2a Land Rover. My daily driver and only car. My insurance company describes it as an 'enthusiasts" car and charge me accordingly.

Pros : When something invariably rattles apart (and something always invariably rattles apart), it's the equivalent to a big Meccano set so I can tear it down to nothing with a screw driver, a pair of pliers and a rock to fix it.

Cons : It invariably rattles apart......

I do so love the old girl though and she gives me a great deal of joy. More so than any other car I have owned.
