Any Donjon fans here?

There's a new version of my MapForge software (v1.0.7, currently in open beta testing) which now has support for Donjon-generated maps.

It lets you edit the randomly-generated layout that Donjon spits out to be more to your liking. Easily add textures or colorize the output, and even add realistic wall shadows with a single button click.

In fact, you can just create dungeons from scratch (no Donjon required), about as easily as clicking and dragging on virtual graph paper. I put together a video to show how it all works.

MapForge is new map-making software for GMs that is designed to cut down on session prep time, usually by stamping down pre-existing assets.

But the latest release adds not only support for Donjon-generated random maps, but also an entirely new method of map-making that lets you either edit those maps to be more to your liking or even to draw maps entirely from scratch as easily as clicking and dragging on virtual graph paper.

These maps can then have custom colors or textures applied to them, as well as easily-applied filter effects, and the end result is a map that only took a few minutes to make but looks like you spent hours and hours on it.

Watch the linked video, which explains how it all works.

By the way, MapForge can be used for free (no license required).

A quick battlemap (~30 minutes) I call "The House at the End of the Road". Yeah, the road could be less angular, I know...
