At the first Kotlin meetup there was interest in learning more about Kotlin and quite a few people thought it'd be nice to work through some Kotlin Koans together.

Join us on the 4th of April for some coding fun. Bring your laptop with IntelliJ/Android Studio and the Koans project setup (https://kotlinlang.org/docs/tutorials/koans.html) and we'll see how far we get :-)

Bring your laptop with IntelliJ/Android Studio and the Koans project setup (https://kotlinlang.org/docs/tutorials/koans.html) and we'll see how far we get. If you don't have a laptop you can pair up with someone who does on the night.

Some setup suggestions:

1. Ideally, clone the Github repository before you come to the meetup. It also has recently been updated for Kotlin 1.1

2. Make sure you have IntelliJ or Android Studio in an up-to-date version with the Kotlin 1.1 plugin installed.

3. Alternatively you can also get Kotlin Koans through the Kotlin Educational Plugin: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ponbfQhESY&feature=youtu.be - it looks like a nice and easy way to get everything setup.

On the night, we'll start with the Kotlin Koans, section (i) ("introduction") and work our way through the problems in there - totally suitable for Kotlin beginners or people with very little Kotlin experience.

Trade Me is providing pizza and drinks but the spaces are limited.

(Please RSVP even if you have already RSVPed to the Wellington-kt event).

See you all soon and apologies for the short notice.
