As an American-Chinese born and raised in SoCal, I know my Chinese food. This is pretty decent -American- Chinese food with some good variety. A safe choice for groups. Improvement could be made in value, it's a little pricey for the portion sizes. But if I want comfort, solid food, I'll come here. I don't think criticism on how Americanized it is, or how there's better "real" Chinese around or on the Eastside, is fair. If you're looking for this type of food, Snappy Dragon does it best. If you're not, go elsewhere.

I was confused at this place. The staff were all very young which is fine, but it was extremely slow. I also could see a staff member in a little office like place eating food while we are waiting a long time for our checks and for our plates to be cleared. Probably won't go back unless I'm right in the area.

Vegetable spring rolls are bland, the sweet and sour sauce is the consistency of jello. The vegetable chow mein is mainly just salty noodles and 5 chunks of bell pepper, three pieces of broccoli and I think two strands of lettuce plus some onion and mushrooms. Uhh... I've eaten chow mein at many different places, including a teriyaki place not much from this restaraunt and there is mass flavor in their sauce which the noodles and vegetables are drenched in. Today was my first time trying this place and I was very disappointed. 2 stars because it was edible just not fulfilling.

Wow, this place has gone downhill. I used to eat here in college and it was very good, but tonight was not! Maybe just because they were super busy, but I don't think so... Duck was incredibly salty, indicating way too long in the brine. However they also managed to dry it out, so it must have been cooked way too long as well. The steamed buns were completely dried out and hard to eat. Chow mein noodles were stuck together in clumps. Fried rice was not cooked thoroughly, and the green pepper was almost completely raw. No thanks. I'll be driving the extra few miles to Black Pearl next time...

They have the BEST dumplings I have ever had, and they do a really good job with their home-made egg noodles! They're a great little place to get some great Chinese food. Don't believe those other bad reviews, they don't know good Chinese food.

We have been going here (or getting takeout) for many years, and have enjoyed it. I have to say, though, that the more recent lunches and dinners have been kind of... underwhelming. I don't know exactly what's changed, but the tastes and textures are not impressive compared to other Chinese options...

You know what you are getting with Judy's. To give it a rating of less than 5 stars would be a shame. These rating 'stars' are not to indicate the class of a joint. If you take into account the owners, history, dedication to consistency and vibe, this place has 5 stars in each category, let alone on food quality, which is as original and authentic as this style of chinese food gets, really. This restaurant specializes in classic, fairly priced American-Chinese food. That is what we want. The dumplings are delectable. The home made chow mein is wonderful. The dumplings have a firm shell and soft textured meat center that has allll of the flavors. The chow mein noodles are firm, have a great texture and a perfect buttery oil on their skin. 'Foodies' try hard to stand out in a croud, so to speak, and are often a disservice to us average food enthusiasts. It often feels as though they stew (yum!) on a point and allow that point grow like a cancer in their critical, short-sited minds. I like Judy's, give her a try. Remember that they are often busy, so plan ahead and get dem dumplings while they're still around.
