Food: The BBQ is very tasty, moist, and juicy. The sides were room temperature, and tasted like they had been sitting out for a while. But, they did have a very large selection of sides. Facility and Decor: The place is old and run down, even dirty. There are dust bunnies hanging from the ceiling fans and light fixtures. There is dust on the walls, and open light fixtures with aluminum foil. The place needs a damn good painting and mopping. Just because it's been around for years, doesn't mean it needs to look like it's been around for centuries. Price: They are charging about $20 more per couple, than other BBQ places in a 50 mile radius. Conclusion: The BBQ is good and tasty, that is about it. Would I go back? No, there are other places around Austin doing BBQ just as tasty for less of the price, and in clean establishment.

Giant beef ribs!!!! I didn't think I was a beef rib fan until I came here and tried Black's beef ribs. They are delicious! Well seasoned, smoky, and huge! We also tried their brisket and i thought the brisket was very average compared to all the other options here in the Austin-Lockhart area. There was limited beverage options, including fountain soda and couple bottled beers. Being a BBQ joint in TX I was surprised they didn't have diet Dr. Pepper, my favorite, on the fountain. The food is served cafeteria style so it's very efficient. Servers are friendly. If you're doing a Lockhart meat crawl, I'd say this is the place for beef ribs. You'll probably need to share one with a friend.

Small town BBQ with big city crowds and big city prices. We arrived around 12:30 on a Sunday and were surprised to see a crowd of people lined up outside the door. The line moved quickly and we found a place to sit fairly easy. Tasty meats and side plates. After Black's, be sure to check out the rest of this historical town.

Great BBQ in a cute town outside of Austin, this wood paneled cozy BBQ joint serves up the largest ribs I've ever seen. I love the buffet style side dishes ...you can get a little of everything. The lean brisket was cooked perfectly! It's more pricey than some spots, but not outrageous. Definitely a nice treat!

RIBS THE SIZE OF YOUR HEAD. Beware your eyes will be bigger than your stomach. Ribs were pretty good. Not the best I've had but getting there. The brisket oh man. So good! The fat just melts away. Jalapeño cheddar sausage is THE BOMB. Wow it's a great combination and has an noticeable kick. The sides were all pretty disappointing. The creamed corn at Rudy's is better and I've had better slaw at home. Green beans were meh too. Overall, love the atmosphere.

I almost cried eating brisket every year I'm in Lockhart, Texas. Wonderfully fatty, moist, and smokey pieces of meat. You can taste the dedication and love of barbecue in this little town of Lockhart known as having one best barbecue in Texas. It unlike any place in the world for meat and lovers of barbecue. There's something about visiting a place that has been known to be the center of excellent brisket and sausage. Everyone here is friendly and very kind. Something I really miss about visiting Texas. They have a sides you can choose to order along with your sausage and moist brisket. I had the creamed corn and the mac and cheese. When you visit Lockhart, Texas, put any thought of calories and diet behind and enjoy one of the best life changing barbecue experiences. This place will set the bar so high for barbecue, that you'll be thinking about your next trip to Texas just for another taste of the cue you can only find in Texas.
