Gay solider Bradley Manning nominated for 2013 Nobel Peace Prize!

The gay US soldier accused of leaking large numbers of secret documents to Wikileaks, Bradley Manning, has been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize.
Last week he pleaded guilty to 10 of the 22 charges against him, and in court on Thursday, Private First Class Bradley Manning read a statement explaining his actions, saying he did not believe the leaks would harm the US.

15 year old uses cake to come out..

Coming out stories: we all have our own versions to tell. For some, telling the 'rents about your sexuality is an extremely serious affair; you sit them down, tell them how you've not felt yourself recently and then you blurt out those fateful words - 'I'm gay' - before collapsing into a ball of tears. For one teen, however, coming out required a sense of humour.

15-year-old Laurel decided that the best way to reveal her sexuality was through cake, wit and a healthy dose of sweetness. She baked her parents a cake with 'I'm gay' iced on top and, to accompany her tasty treat, Laurel wrote her parents one of the best coming out letters you could think of.

The letter reads: "Good morning parents."

"I'm gay. I've wanted to tell you for a long time. I thought doing it this way would be a piece of cake. I hope you still love me. I mean, it's hard not to love someone who baked you a cake."

"All my friends know and still love me. Your acceptance would be the icing on the cake. I hope you, much like this cake, are not in tiers. I hope we can look back at this and say "boy, this one really takes the cake." It gets better. Love, Laurel. (Sorry for so many puns.)"

AMAZING.

Speaking afterwards of her parents reactions, Laurel said: "My dad saw the cake and came into my room and hugged me and laughed. He said he loved me and the cake and the letter and everything was perfect."

Laurel went on to say "My mum saw it and cried of happiness. We hugged and cried together. Then, we all ate the cake and talked. I am very lucky to have such supporting parents."

Well done, Laurel, and welcome to the gang.
