This story could be straight from my novel, The Faithful Heart. The book, set in Faslane, follows a young Finnish woman as she tries to come to terms with her new life and marriage to a Royal Navy submarine officer. She befriends one of the CND protestors, which doesn’t exactly go down well with her husband or her fellow naval wives. You can find the book on Amazon 😉.

When I'm in Finland I often look at book covers and wonder why they are so different. Here's why (in my opinion).

Amazon shares its policy on book stuffing, reviews and other issues with Orna Ross from Alliance of Independent Authors. This is incredibly useful article for anyone who is publishing with Amazon KDP or planning to. https://selfpublishingadvice.org/self-publishing-amazon-kdp/

Happy Tuesday! Here's one of my favourite quotes for you by the Finnish creator of Moomin Trolls, Tove Jansson:
“One summer morning at sunrise a long time ago
I met a little girl with a book under her arm.
I asked her why she was out so early and
she answered that there were too many books and
far too little time. And there she was absolutely right.”

I'll be interested to see how this will work. A reading room in a furniture shop where you get a free book, but for which you have to book a time in advance?
I know IKEA is innovative, and this may increase reading, but surely supporting libraries, where people can borrow ANY book for free is a far better option for a corporation that wants to 'alleviate stress'? A visit to IKEA in Wembley isn't my idea of a stress-busting day.
