As a family (of now 12) we have been going to Peters Pond for over 20 years and have always looked forward to going to this campground! It was a great getaway and the park was always clean and welcoming, but the pond was what always kept us coming back. The pond was just the main attraction for us because we would always bring our boats and jet skis and spend the whole day out on the water. Over the last several years however, it has been nothing but headaches leading up to this week of vacation for us. Under the new owners, it is becoming a less and less desirable place to go. Every year we would have some complication that would need a bunch of calls going back and forth about sites, dock space, you name it. This current year(2015), we thought we would not be going back to Peters Pond after booking our vacation last summer. We were told that we can no longer bring our boats and jet skis to the pond weeks before our vacation(we go in July and found out in June.) We were told that transits can no longer rent dock space or bring boats to the pond. After several attempts and trying to get in contact with the manager, we were told we could bring them this one last time but next year we would not be able to bring them unless we become seasonal. So as much as we loved coming to this park, it will be our last year and we will have to find somewhere new for the future. It's a shame because like I said earlier, this place has always been out getaway in the summer for many years.

The baseball field complete with the Green Moster was awesome. Too bad the new owners got rid of it.

Got a tent site here for a weekend. It was in the edge of a football field and bordered a busy road. The closest bathroom facility was a port-a-john. The workers said they ended up not putting in showers but they put them on the map anyways. Showers were coin operated. People seemed to like beeping their horns as they drove down the road behind the site, especially at night. My friend had a camper and they were given a site that wasn't level. Most of the sites seemed like they were occupied by permanent residents. If you're looking for basically a classy trailer park, or you're just looking for a place to park your camper/RV while you go to places in the area, this place is probably OK. If you're tenting, make sure you're not on the field. If you're just in the area to go to beaches, try just getting a cabin actually on the beach so you don't have to deal with traffic.

they put me in a site where the electrical outlet is not compatible with a normal laptop plug. They said that they will find it for me. But after about 1 hour, that guy come back and said that he cannot find one and suggest me to go the the shop nearby. When I went to a nearby shop and ask for what I need, they immediate know that I`m from peter`s pond. This means that a lot of customers has been here for such a power adapter. it`s ridiculous that they don`t have some backup in their site. Also I have a feeling that they are not very enthusiastic about their customers. If you go there, you are on your own.

I made rv site reservations at this park in February 2014 for July 2014. Due to health problems we were not going to be able to make this trip. I called in May to cancel those reservations. I had paid in full already. They charged me $50.00 processing fee to cancel those reservations. I understand a processing fee, but I think $50.00 for a camping site was a bit extreme. All the other places I had to cancel across several states, stated they were sorry we would not be able to make the trip. Hoped we would be able to schedule a visit at a later date. Canceled my reservations. Stated they would charge be nothing as I had given them an ample time frame in the cancelation. Be sure you will be able to go to this campground when you reserve as it is very pricey to cancel. We hope to make this trip next year, I am not sure after this experience that I will be planning on rescheduling with this campground.

I spent several weeks looking at various RV parks north of Virginia and specifically was looking for one on the water because my husband and I were celebrating our 30th anniversary. I made a reservation 3 months ago and thought I was paying extra for a lake front site. After driving over 550 miles, we arrive at Peters Pond to only find out that I am not getting the lake front site that was promised to me. I spoke with the manager and apparently a new company had taken over the park but no one had the courtesy to call me and let me know I was not getting a lake front site. I would have liked to have had the option to decline and look at another RV park closer to home. The manager did offer a 25% discount. During my conversation with the manager, one of the front desk ladies informs me I was overcharged by $116 by the previous owners. I wonder if anyone would have caught this if I had not complained about not getting the lake front site. Beaches and facilities were very clean. The lots were okay but I have stayed at better for less money. You can only fish if you have a boat which was disappointing to my husband. All around a very bad experience.

As of summer 2013, the park is now owned by Sun RV Resorts and is in the midst of improvements. They just completed a new store, game room, and the pool is new. The sites are wooded and clean. I found the bathrooms clean also. We had lots of entertainment all weekend, and had a fabulous time. The whole campground is very manicured, the beaches and pond clean for swimming. You can fish from shore or a boat. I highly recommend this campground, even though the previous owners have ruined it's reputation.

Peters Pond Park hasn't shared anything with you.
