+Ron Licata Insects are a class in the phylum of arthropoda in the kingdom of animals. At least according to the scientific classification system.
+Erin Biba Of my four arguments given above (nutritional health, money, killing, and sustainability) you ignore two, discard one as irrelevant, and try to fight the last one. That's a great mode of discussion. As for sustainability: I would really like to see a calculation which confirms that it's more environmentally benign to transform livestock farming from conventional farm animals to bugs than to shut it down altogether and transform it to nature reserves and crop farm land. As long as you can't give me credible figures on that, I simply beg to differ.

I'm doing a series profiling field scientists for http://Tested.com/ Are there any boots-on-the-ground science fields you'd like to read about? Here's a teaser of my first subject.

I took a deep dive into the reasons behind the our current Whooping Cough epidemic -- the largest since the vaccine was introduced. Surprisingly, it's one time we can't blame vaccine deniers for the cause.
