Cosy pub on the end of Pall Mall. It's really tiny and couldn't hold a huge gathering - but great for a quick pint after work or before a dinner. Really nice setting - not over done, but nice and traditional, and quick service too. Prices are fine for Central London.

Location is outstanding, hidden down a small alley directly opposite St James's Palace. Lovely traditional English pub with a great atmosphere.

A beautiful British pub full of character and replete with friendly staff and interesting locals. The beer is excellent and fairly priced considering it's over the road from the royal residences of St James Palace and Clarence House. I've quite often seen palace guards pop in here in uniform for a quick pint after a parade. The pub apparently has the second oldest continuous beer license in London, and the little alleyway where it resides has a distinctly Dickensian feel about it.

Stopped in here after shopping on Jermyn Street in early October 2013 while on vacation from the US. Was quiet - only patrons there at the time - but had a nice chat with the staff. Great beer and sandwiches - a nice quiet lunch.

I was here on Saturday 19th October 2013. Arrived at about 2115hrs with three friends. I'd been to The Red Lion before, about 20 years ago, and was delighted to find it was still a going concern. Very quiet at 2115hrs - we were the only people there aside from the barmaid. But then, it got very busy. Some very smart gentlemen from I don't know where descended. I'm assuming that this is a regular thing for this pub, otherwise I doubt they would have remained open. Lovely traditional pub - not jammed with tourists - which is brilliant!

Very fond of this old pub tucked down an alleyway off Pall Mall. I heard once it supposedly used to have a tunnel linking it to Buckingham Palace - probably not any truth in that, but the idea that Liz and Phil might pop in for a quiet half at any point is rather endearing.
