Two of your comments hit home. I found myself searching up and down some blog sites for a place to leave a comment, formatting my reply as the cursor sent me bobbing from top to bottom. I should have used your 10-second rule, but when an idea starts percolating, it's hard to give it up. Blog length dictated my interaction also. Brevity won out every time.

When I first started blogging I was so excited not to have to meet a word count restriction. Now I think the pendulum has swung the other way, and I need to keep most posts the length of a newspaper column, if not shorter.
